DO NOT GO HERE!!! A waste of time coming here** Racist employees
On 9/08/24 at 12:50pm, I walked into the store to print 2 sheets of paper.
Everyone at the printing station (about 5 employees) were standing behind the counter taking to one another with their phones out (as 1 employee who was not on the clock were standing over there as well).
The all turned and looked at me amazed as I walked in holding my puppy and made the interaction with seeing the dog.
I walked up and I asked the guy (not knowing he was the manager-Anthony white male with black haircut stops mid ear) if he can print something for me as the self service printer possibly does not have the type of paper Iād need.
He (Anthony) told me, he can not print anything for me and it would be a wait as they are busy and have many jobs as all the employees behind the station were staring and listening to the conversation. I then asked how? When yāall are back here just standing and talking?
This is when now everyone behind the printing station wants to pick up order paperwork and get to their stations to act is if they are or were so busy BUT when I walked inā¦they were all standing behind the counter chattering and had the time to give bubbly eyes to my dog and say how cute he was.
Anthony claimed they were all back there talking because it was a meeting of tasks for the day @ 1pm. But the store been open since 10am??
I then Asked who was the lady on her phone laying over the counter next to us because now Iām trying to understand what non sense excuse he was giving. Anthony responded she wasnāt on the clock so she can be on her phone. Okay fine ⦠So why would she need to be over there attending a āfor the dayā task meeting ? B.s. !! Yāall were over there giggling and chattering and not doing any orders! Point proven.
I then stated how Iāve come here many times and needed something that I couldnt do on self service and it was printed for me as I was there. So whatās the difference or hold up today ??
I requested to speak to the supervisor, Anthony the manager said he was the supervisor for the day.
So, I asked for the actual supervisor information to submit my complaint or see how this can be resolved (Anthony the manager didnāt want to give me their information nor did he give me any resources if I wanted to make complaint). The other employees were giggling as this was a joke. You all are a disgust honestly!
I come here consistently as a business owner and you all Customer Service and timely manner to handle things is usually terrible to Black people. It just sucks that this is the only staples close enough but, I will not be returning. You all need to train your employees how to respect ALL people! Not just white folks.
Iāve witnessed multiple times as well white customers come in and go straight to the desk and get assisted with no push offs.
All the wasted time Antony (the manager) gave to go back and forward explaining to me how he COULDNāT assist me at that moment is the time he COULD HAVE assisted me! He even offered to show me the order queue but again ā¦he didnāt have the time to assist me? I My 2 sheets of paper could have been printed by...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo I place an order on line for the 1hr pick up, get confirmation of the order via email, then another one that says there is a problem with payment and that they will hold my order for three days. So I think ok I will go in and figure out what the payment issue is and pick up my goods then. I go in to the online pick up desk and the rep has a hard time finding my order. Then he goes to the back office to speak with the manager I assume. Comes back out tells me he has to call an 800#. Tries to call and gets put on hold, I say ok no biggie just get my items and we can just run the payment again now. He says ok and gos to grab my items to find that one of the items has already been sold and they only have one of the 2 items I ordered. I explained to him I live over and hour away from any Staples store and that is why I placed my order online to ensure the items would be there and that I'm only in town for a meeting. He says "yep I understand". I look at him and say "understanding wont help me get the items" "what can be done to help me get the items I requested and was told would be held". He says hold on, gos in back to get again what I assume is the manager, I explained the hole thing again and he says "you're making this a bigger issue than it really is". Really! Wow! Your system has the issue, tells me my order will be held, which means my products will be held, and I'm making a bigger issue! My response was simple "screw you" and I walked out. Next step on my long drive home.... I call customer service from the email about my order being held. Explain it all again and they agree to ship me the 2 monitors I needed for a project at no cost. However they said they could not send it overnight... lie, anyone, anywhere can ship items overnight, happens all the time. They just dont want to pay for it. So I had to settle for receiving my monitors that were available at 8am and tried to pick up at 12pm the same day (yes 4 hours later) with one of them being taken from my order that was being "held for 3 days" per the email and sold to someone else, to having them shipped to my home office 4 days later. Now they did ship them at no cost to me and tried to smooth it over by giving me a 30.00 gift card but to be honest, the only satisfaction I will accept is knowing that the little puke of a manager(if that's his position) is fired! Then and only then might I do business with Staples again. Keep in mind this is only one of the 4 purchases I have made in the last 30 days, oh and each one has been over a $150.00, with this last one being almost 200.00. So it's not like I dont spent a reasonable amount of cash there. And guess what when they ran my card again for the new order being shipped instead of pickup, they had zero issues...... and it was the same card. OfficeMax here comes another small...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would have given this store a 5-star. Here is the reason why: I went to have a legal document sent by email to staples, then have it printed for me to sign an scanned then sent back out. I approached Danielle who said "she will be right with me", but she was assisting a coworker at the moment. I said ok that's fine, waited 5 minutes, she answered the phone, I still waited. I walked over to the copier to see I could figure out myself how to do the copying and scanning by trying to read the instructions on the copier. The instructions were in fine print which I was unable to read, since I didn't have my reading glasses with me, I walked up to Danielle once again, she seen me coming towards her and tossed the same instructions on the counter and said "read this, it will explain what to do!" Again, not offering to come over to assist. Another customer walked in, she said to that customer "Oh your the one who just called?", assisted her with what she needed and sent her on her way. I got really upset, said "that was very rude to her" , walked outside and told my sister and her best friend what just happened and to calm down because I have PTSD and I'm a cancer patient and I get Anxiety an very exhausted standing for long periods. I rested a minute and I told my sister what transpired , she said we need to go speak with a manager. Which we did. His name was Anthony. Explained my situation, he took over and did the whole transaction himself and apologized for the emplyees attitude and comped the order. He had a very professional demeanor and was able to calm me down and made some small talk and jokes which made us laugh. Anthony was amazing! If it wasn't for him, I probably would never return to this store location again. He needs to be commended for his handling of the problem and saving a customer. He said he would talk to Danielle. I hope she treats future customers with some respect and consideration. Thank you Anthony for saving a customer from not returning...
