A couple weeks ago I had an issue with a Sony KD75X85J in which had a dark blemish toward the center left of my tv in which I thought having the TV one year with a issue isn't acceptable and my warranty was going to run out in 1 week. Sony was going back and forth with me stating that the engineers claimed my issue was due to dust??? it was clearly something else. They said I need to go to an authorized Sony repair center so I looked on Sony website and found Engel Audio and Video. I called and setup a time to bring in my TV and Adam was very helpful, friendly and knew his craft so we setup the tv checked it out and told me no way that was dust buildup more so dead light/panel separation. I called Sony while I was there and Adam even joined in on the conversation to tell them it was not dust Adam wrote me a document to send to them stating his findings. As of today Sony called me and is sending me a new tv. I want to say I am truly thankful for Adam and Engel Audio and Video for being professional and helpful I couldn't have gotten this far...
Read moreI called Adam about my 14 year old tv that had gone out when I recently moved. He was very open and up-front about things and said that it was likely one of two things, one fixable if he could find the part, the other not, and invited me to bring it in for him to check out.
The fixable thing was definitely messed up, but wouldn’t be able to know if that’s all until new part in it. He explained where the part was coming from, as the manufacturer doesn’t do parts anymore, and explained the options and risks clearly, sharing what the cost would be if it works and if it doesn’t. We gambled and it worked! Having been in the tv sales business for several years, I really appreciated the clear communication and the care taken with a quality, albeit very old for a flatscreen, machine.
Can’t recommend them enough and will look to Adam anytime I have...
Read moreI had a subwoofer and a flat screen TV, both uncommon brands, that needed repair. This shop had no problem taking in odd equipment and they repaired the TV quickly (saving me $100s) and diagnosed the subwoofer problem free of charge (unfortunately it was beyond saving). If you are hesitating at all in bringing your HiFi or home theater gear or TV to a repair shop because you doubt that the unit is worth repairing or you assume modern gear is made to be disposable or you just think repair shops are a thing of the past -- bring your gear here for a diagnosis. They don't even have a minimum bench fee for the initial look. Also, don't fear if you have high-end HiFi gear that needs repair. While I was there, they were diagnosing an esoteric British amplifier and were not the least bit put off by a rare piece of high-end gear. This repair shop is...
