I have been a long time customer at Tobiko for both dine in and takeout. The food is usually very good and sometimes excellent. I have always appreciated that the restaurant is clean, the waitstaff are friendly, and the team has been accommodating when I began requesting low sodium dishes.
Unfortunately, I have had repeated negative experiences with the young lady who handles takeout orders at the register. While the rest of the team is professional and welcoming, her attitude varies depending on her mood. On some days she is pleasant and seems happy, but when she is not in a good mood, she becomes rude and dismissive toward customers.
During my most recent visit, I ordered sushi and a bubble tea. While taking my order, she barely made eye contact and spoke in a tone that felt annoyed or uninterested. I tried to overlook it as I have before. However, a mishap occurred with the bubble tea machine when the lid was not sealed properly, and the drink spilled on my off white coat, leaving a stain.
When I explained what happened, she seemed visibly irritated, took the cup without a word, and began making a new drink. I politely asked if the new drink could have less ice, and she snapped, “There is no ice in here,” in a tone that drew the attention of nearby customers.
The other staff member who had originally dropped off my sushi to her had left but came back when she was remaking the drink. When he asked what was happening, she pointed at me, the drink, and the bubble tea machine, and then started laughing. I told her that I did not find the situation funny and that her reaction was inappropriate. She continued to smirk and laugh instead of apologizing. The other employee was polite and did apologize on her behalf, but she showed no professionalism at all.
This was extremely disappointing, especially considering how much I have enjoyed Tobiko in the past. If this is the kind of customer service the restaurant is willing to accept at the front counter, I will have to reconsider coming here in the future, and I will share my experience with family and friends who also frequent Tobiko.
I hope management takes this feedback seriously and addresses the issue so that the restaurant’s great food and service reputation is not overshadowed by one person’s inconsistent and...
Read moreI will never, ever give this restaurant my business and I encourage everyone else not to either.
Ever since this restaurant was purchased by new ownership, it has done nothing but go down hill.
The past 3 times I've ordered take out, the entire order has been wrong. Every time I call back to ask why my order is incorrect, they rudely tell me to either come back and exchange it or take a free roll next order. Extremely inconvenient that I have to drive back to your restaurant after you made a mistake.
Last night, I called to complain. I ordered a cucumber avocado roll and a shrimp tempura roll for my wife. Pretty simple right? We got an avocado roll, and a crab and mango roll.
I call and speak to the lady who originally took my order and explain that my order is wrong, and that this is a consistent problem with the restaurant. She tells me she's going to talk to the people who packed it, and get back to me. She placed me on hold.
Right when she puts me on hold, she takes another customer's order over the phone. I know this because she must've patched me through somehow and I was able to hear everything. I heard the customer's address, his phone number, and his entire credit card number including 3 digit code and expiration date. I didn't hear her repeat it, I was actually patched in to the call and heard everything.
Once the order was done, she hung up. I had to call back, and she told me she spoke to the packer and said everything was right. She told me my only option was to drive back to exchange it. I asked to speak to the person who packed the dinner, manager, or owner. She told me they all don't speak English and can't help me.
Extremely unprofessional, and I will do my best to persuade anyone not to give this establishment their business. The new ownership is awful, the food is not as good as it used to be, and the...
Read moreI NORMALLY DON'T WRITE REVIEWS PLEASE READ THIS ONE. I called and ordered some sushi at 5:47pm for delivery. I paid the delivery man and when I got inside one of my orders was wrong so I called back right away. I was vey calm about it and the man said that the delivery man would be back in about 20 mins. So I waited, and an hour had passed by so I tried calling back but the line was busy once I got through to talk to someone it was almost an hour and a half later.I spoke to someone again he proceed to tell me that if they have a lot of customers they don't have time to attend to the mistake they made. He told me to hold on and took a very long time to come back. The phone then got disconnected and I called back I asked to speak to a manger and he told me that the manger does not speak English. Then he spoke to someone for around 10 mins and a women came on the phone, by this time almost 2 hours had went by since I called back about the mistake. She proceed to tell me to eat the sushi (which was spicy tuna) telling me that it's not that spicy. I asked for a refund for the whole thing because the sushi had been sitting out for a while, I even asked if I could bring it back tomorrow untouched and she told me no. I would have even taken my original order(but who knows how long that would have taken) The woman did apologize but she kept telling me to eat the sushi and would not give me my money back. Towards the end of the call she told me to "call the cops then" and then told me to never come back in the restaurant ever again. I know that people make mistakes and I was calm the first time I called but the second time was absurd I am absolutely outraged at the customer service this...
