Based on the previous reviews we decided to grab lunch here. Seems like a popular place amongst the locals, whom were very friendly. Our waitress was very nice, but when asked “ What do you suggest?” She replied: “Everything is good!” I had a feeling we were in trouble. The Buffalo wings appetizer was excellent and the burger looked amazing. Unfortunately, the homemade fries were very undercooked and gave my kid a stomachache,so he only had a few bites of the burger. The roast beef melt was disgusting. The beef was tough and drenched in what tasted like gravy from a can. I tried dousing with salt, but it didn’t make a difference. The fries were undercooked and the coleslaw was spoiled. The cheesesteak sandwich special, was nothing special at all. Wish I could say the beers were cold and the food was hot, but I can’t. Menu prices are for cash only. All other forms of payment are charged approx 4% fee. Fun atmosphere to watch a game and grab some good wings. Other than that, I...
Read moreThe Bayview Tavern, @bayviewtavernseaford is a classic local tavern food and drinks place across from some of Seaford's canals. Below is a picture of the inside, and the sign at the back of the room reflects the Caps restaurant they used to own that was dockside before superstorm Sandy. I have visited Bayview Tavern several times, and the home-style comfort food is consistently delicious. The crew is fun and personable while being remarkably efficient. Of course, all COVID-19 precautions are fully observed in keeping with the times; even the bar crowd, a stout, hardy, and gregarious bunch, observe the rules. The drinks are well made and very generous pours. For the food, the menus are a great collection of tavern food and several specials each day, all of which are moderately priced. I go for the specials as it tends to show off the kitchen's real talent or shortcomings. For more details go to...
Read moreA reasonably priced place to have a casual dinner. Two of us got chicken tacos, and two of us got burgers. Everyone had a drink and we shared the very large pretzel appetizer. Burgers good, fries very good, chicken tacos supposedly very good to excellent with a lot of meat. My margarita was excellent. I wanted to review because someone said the burgers are $5- that is incorrect. There is a special one night a week where burgers are $6, but usually they are $11 plus a dollar or two for cheese. Waitress was very professional, better than you might expect to find in a casual restaurant. Place was less crowded than I expected, but I hear it’s very crowded during summer months as people come in after a day or boating. All in all, when it seems like anywhere a bit more upscale is $80-90 for two people to have a drink each and dinner, this place at $100 for four people, $120 with tip, is a...
