My husband and I are huge fans of antique shops. Whenever we go away, somehow we manage to find antique stores/boutiques and trust me we've seen our share of them, but this place, Long Island Antiques Center, is by far the BEST antique store we've been to! Talk about traveling back in time. Walking through the store felt like being in a time capsule down to the music playing throughout the store. John, thank you for literally transporting us back in time when you played the Victrola for us. I actually teared up. As if that wasn't enough of a treat, when you played the coin operated nickelodeon - WOW!! That was the ultimate. The clarity of the music... so prestine. I thought I was in a saloon back in the 1900s! Some things are not meant to be altered. Definitely going back! Just need to save up a bit to treat myself to something! š John, I think you know what I want, lol, hopefully it's still there when...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love L. I. Antiques! The shop is like no other on Long Island. It is packed with treasures from all periods of yesteryear spanning 200 years and more! Items of furniture, lamps, jewelry, bric a brac, silver, vintage toys and dolls, clothing, old radios, cameras, military memorabilia, etc. etc. John, the owner, lets you browse the shop on your own but is always available with a smile to answer any questions you might have and to share his knowledge on the history of any given item. You should visit regularly as new items come in daily. And donāt hesitate too long because an item you like will likely be gone next time you come in! I have taken many of my house guests on jaunts to L. I. Antiques and they are always impressed! Thank you L. I. antiques for more than 15 years...

Had to call his āpartnerā for a price, because he didnāt feel like opening the cabinet and looking at the tag. Like every other one of these stores, the item youāre interested in turns into gold the minute you say you may want it. His āpartnerā quoted a ridiculous price on what I asked about, so now it will sit in this overpacked walk-in closet for another hundred years, or until the fire marshal gets around to shutting this place down. These people really need to recognize the junk they sell isnāt exactly flying...
