We have been ordering from and eating at this place all the way back to when it was Positano's. In the past, we've had good food from them. The specialty pies that are pre made in store are usually good. Over the past several years, they have been making food for the school my kids go to. The food they send to the school has become so bad, my younger son will no longer eat it and he can live on from frozen chicken nuggets and pizza, so that say's a lot. My wife recently volunteered for lunch duty at the school and brought some leftovers home and I understand well why he rejects it...it was awful. Still, I had a bunch of kids over, they do have some nice coupon deals and there's no such thing as bad pizza, right? Wrong! The pizza was undercooked, the sauce lacked any seasoning and the cheese seemed to be cheap "pizza cheese as opposed to 100% real mozzarella. . The pasta in the baked ziti was waaaay over cooked almost to mush and suffered the same seasoning issue as the pizza. The garlic knots were easily the best item from the coupon deal. I also ordered a meatball parm hero and a chicken parm hero. The meatball parm was just ok, the bread was plastic bagged supermarket quality , the sauce lacking seasoning and the meatballs a bit tough and rubbery. BJ's sells better meatballs frozen in a bag. The chicken parm was another issue. Though it suffered the same season, bread and cheese issues, the egregious part is it was made with chicken strips, not a cutlet and they were tough dry chicken strips to boot. What I see here is a resteraunt cutting quality to save money, an issue that doomed Positano's that preceded it. Ditch the coupon and though this area doesn't feature really good pizza, there are a couple of places like Montana bros in Freeport and Umberto's in Bellmore that blow this place out of the water. We won't be ordering from Tomato and...
Read moreAs a life long True Yorker pizza runs in my veins. And Frankie's pizzeria and restaurant is a big notch above the majority of pizza out on the island in Nassau county. As a matter of fact!... I'd put these slices my lady and I had up against most places in the five boroughs. I've had my share of pizza, running around New York as a kid and all I can say is... if you would like to eat some of the "best slices" you've ever had?.. Then Frankie's pizzeria is a place you need to try! The entire staff was amazing upon entering just to start off my experience. I even had the chance to chop it up with Frankie himself about the quality ingredients they use, and the process in which his dough goes through. The hospitality that was given made me feel like I've know the family owned and operated Pizzeria for decades. And it was my first time there. I've had Frankie's on my radar for quite some time after finding their Instagram page. And I will gladly take the drive from Queens NY, into Nassau county any chance I get from now on just so, I can get me some of the best slices I've had in my life! I'm actually on my way back to their place now while writing this review from...
Read moreWe went to this restaurant after we saw pictures of ragu with pasta in bread bowl. I called before going there to see if they serve that and I was told that they serve any pasta in bread bowl and that they have bread for Saturday night. We came to the restaurant 30 min after that phone call and they already sold out all the bread for the night. So, I ordered short rib ragu without bread bowl. And it was delicious! They served us bruschetta as a starter. We also had calamari in thai sauce which were OK. My boyfriend had linguine in white clam sauce which he didn't like because they were really bland and there was too much of garlic in this dish. I am giving five stars because short rib ragu was out of this world and the service was amazing. We will be back to try something else but this will def be our place for short rib ragu! 🤤 P.s. make sure to call and make reservation because there was a line outside by the time we were done with our dinner.
Wishing good luck and all the best to...
