I am submitting this review to raise urgent safety, reliability, and customer service concerns regarding my 2024 Porsche Cayenne, leased through Porsche South Shore, a McGovern Auto Group dealership. Since the lease began, the vehicle has exhibited serious and recurring issues affecting its electronic systems, software integration, mechanical performance, and tire safety. Despite multiple documented service visits and escalations to both dealership and corporate leadership, these failures remain unresolved. The impact on my personal safety, professional obligations, and physical and emotional well-being has been substantial. My efforts to seek fair resolution have been met with inadequate responses, deflections, and a troubling lack of accountability.
Electronic and Software Failures From early ownership, the vehicle displayed repeated system malfunctions, including multiple dashboard errors and unexpected shutdowns of the central infotainment systemâfour times while the vehicle was in motion, eliminating access to navigation and safety features. Despite four software re-installs, the issues persist. Bluetooth connectivity failed entirely after one reset, further impairing safe use. Porsche South Shore denied a software defect, provided no detailed diagnostics, and failed to escalate the issue to Porsche engineering. Mechanical Power Failures On several occasions, the vehicle failed to accelerate when merging into high-speed traffic, despite high RPMs. These incidents created hazardous situations for me and my passengers. Service staff either downplayed the issue or stated they couldnât replicate it, with no deeper diagnostics conducted. Tire Safety & Handling Concerns I reported repeated tire pressure loss (6â12 PSI in under 72 hours), severe vibration at speed, and steering instability. Despite 7â8 formal requests, my tire concerns were dismissed by Service Advisor Aaron Geiger, who insisted the vehicle was safe to drive without documentation. Only after I refused to leave the dealership were the front tires replacedâa partial fix that left rear tire issues unaddressed. Service and Management Failures Christopher Alves â Former Service Manager After requesting a meeting to review ongoing issues, I discovered Mr. Alves had abruptly left his position, with no communication or case handoff, contributing to delays and unresolved concerns. Four Service Visits at Porsche South Shore Across multiple visits, I encountered incomplete diagnostics, dismissive attitudes, and a failure to communicate service outcomes transparently. I was never provided with full service reports or escalation paths. Mitch Dick â McGovern Auto Group Following my outreach to McGovernâs President, Mr. Dick contacted me. I clearly outlined the safety risks and requested either a refund or vehicle replacement. He declined both and directed me back to Porsche South Shore, despite my stated concerns regarding their prior handling of the case. Ongoing vehicle failures have caused significant stress, anxiety, and health consequences, including elevated blood pressure, now formally documented by my physician. Professionally, Iâve missed critical meetings and suffered reputational harm due to repeated loss of vehicle access. I am seeking a fair and prompt resolution through one of the following: Full refund of lease-related costs, including down payment and 15 months of payments. Replacement vehicle of equal or greater value, free of defects. Official Porsche documentation supporting a Lemon Law claim. This report is a final, good-faith effort to resolve a matter that has seriously compromised my trust in Porsche and the safety of its vehicles. Without a satisfactory and timely resolution, I will pursue formal Lemon Law proceedings, legal remedies, and public disclosure to consumer protection entities and media.    Read moreThis was my first experience with Porsche, when I entered South Shore Porche in Freeport NY I was unaware of the excellence. I was about to experience. I was cordially greeted by the receptionist, she explained to me if you would like to speak to somebody, please let me know. And no point did I feel pressured nor was I followed around by a sales person, asking me if I needed help even though I already told them twice I did not. After looking around a little while, I approached the receptionist, and said I would like to speak to someone about a vehicle, with a smile she summoned a salesmen, and introduced me to. Xiang Chen, little did I know that this gentleman was going to change my opinion of car sales forever, his cordial no pressure demeanor was a breath of fresh air. Most people hate shopping for cars, I am no different, my distain stems from the pressure that sales staff put on us. After speaking to Xiang for a moment I knew he was not going to be a stereo typical salesman. He had an extreme knowledge of the brand, and its history. And he took the time to listen to what I was looking for, I noticed as I spoke, he was taking notes, when I had finished, he made a recommendation. It was obvious to me. That he was not going to rush me and he took me around the show room showing me different vehicles, he then explain why he felt the Macan GTS was the best fit for me, itâs obvious he was paying attention when I was explaining to him what I was looking for because his choice was spot on when I asked if they had a GTS on site, he explained to me that they did not have one, but they were expecting a few to be delivered in the next few weeks, I was a bit disappointed until he explained to me that he drives a Macan GTS, and asked if I would like to drive his, I thought this was an unprecedented, I have never had a salesman do anything like this, generally what theyâll do is, try to either upsell you or show you something else other than what youâre being sold, he was very adamant about the fact that he wanted me to see and drive the vehicle that I was going to possibly buy, he explained to me that buying a Porsche is not like buying any other vehicle, he went on to say youâre entering a Family, Porche owners, love, their vehicles, and it was important that I knew what I was going to own. When we went on a test drive, it wasnât on a predetermined route, We got in the car and he said letâs go. I drove where I wanted to drive. I drove how I wanted to drive. In the end, I was extremely happy with the vehicle I did purchase McKahn GTS

I will write another review, thanking each of the staff that I had contact with But this review was meant specifically for my salesman Xiang Chen, since I purchased my vehicle, he has called me a few times just to check in and make sure that I am still happy with the vehicle and ask if I have any questions, the day, following the sale, he wanted to know if I was enjoying the vehicle when he called me it was his day off. He did this specifically because he cares.
I can honestly say, Porsche has a lifetime customer based not only on the quality of the vehicle, but on the quality of the people that they have that represent them like Xiang Chen.

Being in such a time crunch to replace my previous car, I wasnât too optimistic that my new car would check all of the boxes for what I envisioned as the car of my dreams, such as exterior and interior colors, customizations, etc. That said, once I decided on Porche as make I wanted my next car to be, I was pessimistically prepared to settle in certain aspects like aesthetics when I entered my nearest Porche dealer for a walk-in appointment. I also expected for the process to be at least a few days long before I could pick up the new car and I started to look into getting a rental for a week or two while I worked with Porche. I was, however, extremely lucky to have this walk-in appointment be with Taylor Ervin at Porche of South Shore, NY. Immediately upon sitting down to speak with me, Taylor was very welcoming, reassuring, and professional. He began with asking me very thorough and detailed questions in order to understand exactly what my vision was for my dream car. This immediately made me feel optimistic and confident that Taylor was happy to go the extra mile to ensure I ended up with my dream car without settling on a single small detail. He was also mindful & empathetic from the start of the time crunch I was in and dedicated to getting that car to me quickly. Once he had a clear picture of my vision, Taylor enthusiastically worked for the next several hours, making countless phone calls and emails in search of the car that checked every last one of my boxes. I am overjoyed to say that my expectations were exceeded when I was able to leave the dealership in the definition of my dream vehicle only 3 days later. Every last detail, down to the color of the interior stitching is exactly what I dreamed of. Lastly, once the car was chosen and it came time to sign the paperwork, Taylor made the entire process incredibly seamless and faster then any other experience I have previously had at any other dealership. His advocacy for me as the consumer, customer service, and expertise were nothing short of outstanding, rising high above the call of duty. His attention to detail and effective communication with myself and his colleagues throughout the process made for the most pleasant and memorable experience I have ever had shopping at any car dealership I have done business with. I felt totally heard and seen as an individual, as opposed to feeling viewed as a number on a spreadsheet. If ending up with my dream car wasn't reason enough for me to eagerly look forward to doing business with Porsche again in the future, the extraordinary customer service provided by Taylor Ervin, in particular, has surely sealed that deal. Working with Taylor has been an absolute pleasure and has set an entirely new bar for me as a consumer. I cannot recommend working with him highly enough to anyone seeking to buy or lease a Porche in the South Shore area. Thank you so much for a truly amazing experience, Taylor!
