My anticipation for a decent meal at this Golden Corral quickly dissolved into utter dismay. Upon entering, the absence of ice was immediately apparent, forcing us to settle for tepid, strangely flavored sodas and tea. This was just the beginning of a series of bizarre and unsettling issues. We soon discovered another fundamental problem: a complete lack of forks. We were left to navigate our entire meal, including fried fish that resembled and tasted like brown hockey pucks, with spoons – an awkward and frankly, absurd endeavor.
The food itself was a profound disappointment, far below the standards of any Golden Corral I've visited. Trays were either empty or filled with food that appeared to have languished for hours, if not days. Dishes were either severely overcooked and dry, or alarmingly undercooked and watery. The overall quality was shockingly poor.
Adding to the unpleasantness was the chaotic atmosphere. Children and adults alike were handling food with their bare hands, dropping it on the floor, and running rampant. The few staff members present were clearly overwhelmed, struggling to manage the sheer volume of customers and the escalating disarray.
This experience was so profoundly negative that I genuinely questioned whether this was a legitimate Golden Corral. The sheer level of incompetence and disregard for basic standards was astounding. To charge $28 per person for this abysmal meal and ice-less drink felt not only exorbitant but also deeply insulting.
While some might consider my reaction hyperbolic, this dining experience was truly nightmarish. It has cemented itself as the worst restaurant visit of my life, surpassing even the lowest of expectations. I strongly believe this establishment warrants serious investigation, perhaps even by the health department, for the egregious conditions it presents. I present no photos of the facility simply because I have no desire to sicken the readers of this review. The only positive I can come up with is that we escaped with our lives, and have since suffered no apparent acute ailments from our visit. If I could award some amount of negative stars, I would. Please stay outside of a 100-foot radius of this horrible,...

Edited to add that I emailed customer service directly, and they have not responded over a week later🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
I’ve always loved Golden Corral, so when I saw that there was one in Rochester, we had to go. I really wish we hadn’t.😢
First, there are no trays to put your drinks on or even counter space to set them down. I was trying to juggle the baby and two drinks and get out my card to pay and asked the cashier for a tray since there were none on the counter (as there are at every other Golden Corral). She just gave me a blank stare and stood there, saying $56 for three people. Ok, no problem, but I need a tray to set these drinks on so I can pay! She never responded except to give me my receipt.
The salad bar was awful. There was brown lettuce in the bowl. The cauliflower was all covered with black dots. The onions smelled bad and were translucent, definitely not fresh, and the ranch tasted off.
There were no taco shells, but all the fixings were there.
There were no baked potatoes, a Golden Corral staple.
The rolls, which are one of the reasons I love GC, were hard and chewy.
The fried chicken looked and tasted as if it had been cooked the day before and reheated in old grease.
The steamed broccoli had an odd taste, and the cheese sauce was jellied.
The mashed potatoes, meatloaf and pot roast were decent, but they weren’t the usual quality. The fried fish was good.
There was no pizza or fried shrimp, both staples of GC.
There was also no steak at the grill.
The chicken in gravy was just plain gross.
The tables are too short for the booth seats, so there’s very little elbow room. Not that it really mattered since there was very little edible food.
In short, if this had been my first experience with GC, I’d never go back. As it is, we wasted $60, just to leave and go to McDonald’s to get something we all could eat! If they can’t do better than this, they need to close...
Read moreThis was the worst experience we've ever had at a Golden Corral. It started with the cashier. He wasn't really interested in doing much more than just ringing customers up. The first real problem is when we got to the table. Everyone got their food only to realize there were no forks. We looked all over and started asking the staff, to which they were kind of dumbfounded that we didn't already have forks. Turns out the cashier was supposed to give us packets with forks, knives and straws, but he ran out. He didn't say anything like, "I'm out of forks, hang on and we will get you some." Thankfully our server was able to track some down for us. She was great, the best part of our visit. The salad bar was missing so much in contrast with other Golden Corral locations. I realized pretty quick they just cut up a bunch of bell peppers, tomatoes or celery and placed them in multiple locations on the salad bar. It was 1pm, and there was still dried up breakfast items left on the buffet. Key items like steamed broccoli and pizza were missing until closer to 2pm. By the time the broccoli was eventually put out it looked brown and over cooked. Signs for the individual food items were missing and we had to ask constantly what a food item was. Some of the hot items were barely luke warm leaving the question, "are they having equipment failure?" Also, the music was way too loud. It was turned up like a party. Thankfully we enjoyed the music, but couldn't hardly have a conversation. On the way out we noticed the exterior facade was falling apart. This Golden Corral felt like a franchisee built it, and abandoned it to a bunch of employees that just don't care. I've had friends share that they can't stand eating at Golden Corral, and I couldn't understand why they would say that. Well, if they had an experience like this location then I understand. I'll never...
