My first experience here was okay. The karaoke party itself was fun. The customer service on the other hand was a little sketchy. The girls seemed fake nice also a little rushy toward the end. The second time I went because I will always give a place a second chance was terrible. To top it all off it was my mother's 50th birthday party that I was throwing for her. I want to talk about mainly my cousins experience who traveled in a snowstorm to get to this party from Buffalo New York. When he came in he ordered steak Teriyaki him and his girlfriend did. Waitress said that it would take 40 minutes to get the food. When he asked why it would take so long it's not a complicated meal she replied the everything was fresh and made-to-order she literally said they have to cut up the steak and vegetables Etc. He ordered a lemonade and he did not like it so he sent it back and got a Sprite instead. The Sprite was flat and she said they had been having a problem with some type of syrup hose but nonetheless it was another bump in the road. Finally after an hour the food arrived and I could not believe it. I've cooked and many restaurants as a profession and when I tell you this food literally look like a Frozen TV dinner, a salisbury steak hungry man meal, it was disgraceful. It literally looked like a salisbury steak with gravy and a handful of frozen vegetables. Which brings me to the point of the food being way overpriced. When the manager came to check out the complaint my cousin said that the vegetables looked canned not fresh she replied they definitely are not canned and I replied well they definitely are not fresh! I am a cook and I have worked with food over 12 years those are frozen vegetables. She was very snarky and Unapologetic. Both of thier meals were cold too. I ordered the eggplant and green beans and did not receive my green beans. I felt very bad that my cousin traveled in that terrible weather to come and support my mother's 50th birthday and him and his girlfriend got terrible customer service. I will not be going back...
Read moreEating here will put your health at risk! My father took me to the "Revolution" Chinese Restaurant after my volleyball practice. Based on some of the reviews I've read, I was expecting complimentary tea, excellent service, and great food.
Upon arriving, we were seated by a cold, unmotivated staff member, that failed to make us feel welcome. Didn't tell us her name. Also, we weren't given the complementary tea. The food on the menu looked good, and I ordered the Szechuan Style Crispy Beef, which was recommended by the server.
When my food arrived, I was shocked. I don't have much knowledge of Szechuan flavors, but the beef I ordered was inedible! The small slices of beef were fried to a crisp! I expected some beef to be inside, but it was all dry. I took a nibble and it didn't even taste like beef, it tasted like old frying oil with dried up chili peppers. If my server had the courage to change my entree and make me happy, I wouldn't be giving a 1 star.
However, when my father and I told the server we didn't like it, she began lecturing us about how it's food that Chinese people like and it's not bad as we were claiming it to be. The waiter walked off and my plate stood at the edge of the table where they left it.
The waiter later came back and offered to change my food and only charge half price for the crispy beef if I ordered, however she would still charge full price for the new dish. Most restaurants I've been to immediately change your meal and remove the charge of the first dish, so this felt unfair for us. I told the waiter that if I was going to be charged half price for the beef, then I don't want anything else.
She then brought us the receipt and the we were charged full price for the crispy beef because she only offered half price IF i paid full price for another meal.
I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. My food was oily and gross, and the staff service is a joke. On google this place has a 4 star rating, but from what I've experienced they shouldn't...
Read moreI’ll start with the good: I had a great time with my friends in one of the private karaoke rooms. The concept of the joint is something different for Rochester and that’s a good thing. I didn’t try their specialty food, but the bar food I ordered was fine for what it was.
Now for the bad: Upon entering, me and my friends were rudely barked at by the security guy at the door for wearing hats and were told we had to put them back in the car. If I was going to an upscale club downtown, I would’ve maybe expected it. But this is located in a strip mall in Henrietta! But hey, it’s their right I suppose. I realize bars need security to check IDs and prevent drunk idiots from ruining everyone’s night, but have someone a little more personable at the door as this made a terrible first impression.
I’m also 99% sure they are watering down their vodka. I’m a former bartender and saw the pour from the vodka which was a standard/slightly generous pour. Upon first sip, the Red Bull and vodka tasted like that “second drink” you get from the ice melting in an almost empty glass. No initial sting from the alcohol that you normally get. Both of my drinks were like that so I switched to beer. The drinks are somewhat expensive so it’s criminal if they are watering the bottles down-which I’m 99% sure they are.
Like I said, I had a good time doing karaoke with my friends, and if I were to go again, I’d definitely be pre-gaming elsewhere. Oh, and I’d remember that even bars in Henrietta strip malls could possibly have...
