When i came in i loved the purple and greens for the interior and the painted picture of the classic banh-mi they serve. The menu on the screen they have only shows one side but they have many printed ones ready for anyone who comes in. I ordered quite a few things. Creme brulee boba, lychee berry crush, korean bbq rice plate, pho banh-mi, creme brulee, pandan sponge cake, triple bean cup, and a bubble waffle. I absolutely love the creme brulee boba, milk, boba pearls, custard blocks and foam with sugar torched on top. I love that drink and can't get enough of it. The korean bbq rice plate had a few different protein options and looks exactly like the picture when brought out. Sadly the korean bbq flavor was not for me, but it was by no means bad. The rice and vegetables were cooked very well and I plan on having a different protein when i go back. The triple bean cup has red bean paste on the bottom, a yellow bean paste (i forgot) in the middle and a green crystal candy on top. When ordered it is topped with coconut milk and served. The green candy has the same texture as the crystal jelly candies i have had prior and sadly the texture is not for me. The flavors are nice though. My bf got the lychee berry smoothie and it was pretty good, it's lychee forward, which i would expect, but it's not only lychee which i liked. The pho banh mi was really good with everything in it, the added chili oil that is on every table there really gave it a good kick of spice with only one spoonful that is already in the jar. Now disclaimer, i'm not a big ice cream person but i wanted to get the bubble waffel. The bubble waffel is made when ordered so they are nice and warm contrasted to the creamy ice cream with optional toppings. I went for a chocolate strawberry so i got chocolate ice cream, cut strawberries, strawberry boba and strawberry sauce. It looked amazing when presented and i enjoyed the strawberries with chocolate ice cream on them. My personal best for last, the creme brulee, amazing. I've tried many different places that serve creme brulee and this one has been the best one i've tried. It's custard with vanilla bean and a torched sugar top. They torch the top once ordered which i really enjoy as an option since it allows me to actually crack the top like a traditional creme brulee instead of getting a soggy top because it was torched before ordered and left to sit. Most creme brulee i've had are very sweet, which isn't bad but it masks the flavors of the custard and vanilla. This one was perfect in balancing the sweetness of the dessert with the vanilla and custard with the caramel noted from the torched sugar on top. The staff the whole time was super friendly and helped whenever they could be it getting utensils or answering questions. This place was amazing and i plan to come back...
Read moreToday, my husband and I finally tried Boba Mi, and let me tell you—we’re already planning our next visit. We’ve been to Vietnam, we know good Vietnamese food, and this place gets it right.
First, let’s talk drinks—so many options, I almost needed a flowchart to decide. Then came the food. My husband had the noodle bowl with grilled beef and declared it the best Vietnamese food in Rochester (which is a bold statement, considering how much we eat). I went for the Pho Dac Biet (Special Combo), and wow—the broth was fresh, flavorful, and had that perfect oil shimmer that screams “you’re about to have a good time.” The noodles? Cooked to perfection.
Not a rice or noodle person? No problem! The Original Mi (Banh Mi) is here to save you. It’s the perfect gateway sandwich into the world of Vietnamese subs, and they have plenty of varieties to choose from. My stomach tapped out before I could try them all, but trust me, I’m coming back.
And the chicken wings? Crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and served with a sweet sauce so good it should be classified information.
Oh, and I almost forgot—desserts! I saw so many people ordering them, and I was way too full to even attempt it. But the smell alone was enough to make me regret my life choices. Just another reason to go back! Do yourself a favor and check out their dessert menu—you might need to strategize your meal to save room.
If you love Vietnamese food, go to Boba Mi. If you think you don’t, go anyway—you’re probably wrong. And save room...
Read moreMy friend never tried boba and I really wanted to find a good local boba spot since I’m not a fan of chain places like TaiChi at all. They have unique flavors and that’s the number one thing that will reel me in as a customer. I absolutely love the cuteness of my shop and their banh mi mural with the Anthony Bourdain quote as I’m a big fan. The girls working seemed sweet!
We ordered the Oreo smash boba and the creme brulee boba. I was very worried about sweetness because a family friend came once and said both her bobas were sickly sweet. I did not have that problem, I would say the drinks were 1/4 of the typical sweetness, just perfect for us. The drinks came out a bit slow but the love and care put into making these drinks to look beautiful was worth the wait. Each drink was layered to perfection and the boba was warm and chewy! Well done! I was just not the biggest fan of the crushed ice at first but it grew on me a little. My friend had a great first boba experience and loved the drink so I think this trip was a success. This shop has lots of potential and I’d come back to try other flavors and the...
