This is a review of the Henrietta store near Rochester, NY. It is great having this store in the Rochester area. They sell many products that most sporting goods stores don't sell. But, they need to hire more people. I don't know if they are struggling financially (which would be no surprise in this despicable economy), but you have to wait a long time for assistance. I wanted to ask some questions about a specific firearm, and shortly after I arrived there the employee said, "i'm going to lunch". The employee just got done with a customer which probably included a background check and a lot of questions. He probably did need a break. I left because there was no one else available to help. Another time all I needed was to use the fitting room to try on a shirt. No one was in sight to unlock the fitting room door. There was no "bell" or anything to alert someone that I needed to use the room. It's like a ghost town. Why lock the fitting room door if there are no employees to help? Do you want to sell merchandise or not? Lastly and not as important: it would be a nice-to-have if some of employees had a little personality and didn't walk around like zombies with their head down. Teach them to smile and make eye contact once in awhile. We're all miserable, but try to fake it sometimes. Especially in a customer facing...
Read moreDeleting my previous glowing review from 3 years ago with a 2024 update: I'm not sure what happened here but I had quite possibly the worst customer service experience here yesterday. Long story short - I had an online order return. Lady at the customer service desk was downright rude to me and would only give me a store credit because I didn't have a printed receipt. I only had an email receipt. Thankfully another associate stepped in and processed my return. Initial associate was in a huff with me, tried to push me off onto management or take a store credit , and hollered out 'next' after she was done with me as if she wanted to get rid of me. I felt like she was treating me as if I was trying to pull over a scam on the store - which that is not something I would do because I have good values, am a mother, and I volunteer in the community. I was visibly upset by the way I was treated, the lady never apologized to me. After this experience, I am not likely to return to Sportsman's Warehouse, and I'm letting my store card expire. I've tried reaching out to corporate and was unsuccessful due to a...
Read moreI wish I could say that I had a bad customer experience, but that would give them too much credit. I found one item that I wanted, but it was out of my price range. I then went to find deer slugs. I had to raise my voice to a CSA because my first attempt to get his attention was ignored. He told me to go into the corner then walked away. So I did find the deer slugs I wanted, but they were in a glass case. Two CSAs were there, but ignored me, except to ask me to move. After a while a customer showed me the number machine so I took a number after waiting for a long time. I stood for a while as CSAs walked by me despite my trying to get their attention. Exasperated, and running out of time because I couldn't get help, I set my alarm for 1:15 (it was 12:53). I was tired of standing, so I sat down on the floor and played chess until my alarm went off. The counter had moved once. At that pace, I would have been sitting there for hours playing chess. My advice is, if you plan on shopping there, show up at 900 am with your own chair. You might get waited on by 5. Or someone might just move you...
