Horrible Experience. Uncle Giuseppes Marketplace RACIAL PROFILING TOWARDS HISPANICS IS AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE! It happens all the time and I don’t pay attention to it, but this time it was so evident and hurtful that I fell someone out there has to gone Through this EXPERIENCE PLEASE! if you did, don’t keep it to yourself speak up we need to end this nonsense. I am a law abiding CITIZEN Conservative American and business owner. And being judge and track just because of YOUR COMPLETION in 2024 it’s wrong! And it has to stop Now. Yesterday Saturday September 28 2024 around 8 PM my wife and I wanted to make some fettuccine Alfredo and I thought I wanna make it from scratch since this is a delicious Italian dish. I figure let me go to uncle Giuseppe’s every time I go to Uncle Giuseppe, I feel unwelcome and OUT OF place. This is how I went down, DURING check out at the Register. The young men asked me if I was instant card delivery men. I looked to the side and I believe it was the store manager, staring at every move. I made again I’ve been at the supermarket several times and never felt so uncomfortable. The young men scan the cold cut and I place it in the car and immediately someone else from the desk came running to ask the young men at the register if I paid for it almost Everything I purchased was filled with a paid sticker. For the record, I do not want this Young man at the register and anybody under management to get reprimanded but yes please start having a different approach when it comes to treating people differently just because they look different. Please review your Loss prevention policy’s and focus your energy on the Real bad guys not a Frequent customer. You wasting your time, money and energy chasing the wrong people in your stores maybe incorporate some AI Technology to avoid this nonsense? STOP...

Hopefully Carl the CEO will read this. I think this is the best place to buy real good delicious food. By far they’re the best !!

As an american Italian decent my tastebuds are most critical. From the hot bar filled with scrumptious meatballs baked ziti eggplant parmigiana and fried chicken mashed potatoes cream spinach all kinds of wraps home made bread sticks unbelievable assortment of every food imaginable the list goes on. Even their coffee section is to die for. Everything is fresh. Everything is like going back to my grandmothers kitchen and tasting all the home made cooking. I can’t say anything more you just have to go there and get food from the hot bar and feel the experience. Feels like you’re at a wedding selecting from hot delicious entrees.

Ok so now I get to the bad part. Every location is different but melville is like you’re being watched as today was most embarrassing. They assume you’re stealing food. You taste it and then you take the container to the check out to throw out the fork and uneaten sample of the food. At the deli they allow you to taste it. Well we did and I was approached by someone telling me I had to pay for what I threw out. Well they’re so wrong after I was humiliated they realized it was garbage that I was discarding. I guess they instruct the employees to be watchful but that makes you think you’re being watched to a degree where it was unnecessary to say anything to us. Not very accommodating which they usually are.

Bottom line their employees well they’re are ok, but they seem to be Gestapos in style which that atmosphere doesn’t mix well with the ambiance. Just know that’s probably because they’re not trained to observe real issues in the store if there are any. I love going there. The music compensates for the trouble I experienced. Me and my girlfriend went in there To grab dinner with the wonderful plan of enjoying the uncle Giuseppe’s experience of eating there and then grabbing the delicious gelato for dessert! We grabbed from the buffet as I have a few times before, being that the food there is decent, not great but decent. As I was paying and the food was weighed the total came to the astonishing amount of 45$ and change!!! which to me was insane for buffet food of medium quality. As I was talking in my head about how incredibly high the price is, I remembered the half off after 730 deal, so I looked at my watch to see it was 710. I asked about it as I highlighted the ridiculous amount the total amount expected to be paid was and pointed out exactly what was in the dish and not only was i denied, I was given an attitude. I ended up paying because I wasn’t going to wait 20 min to get the half off deal or disrespect the store by turning down the purchase. If I was a less confident man I would have been embarrassed in front of my new girlfriend on our 3rd date we ever had, and it was actually her first time there to begin with. After dinner we purchased the gelatos as planned and the attitude continued at the register. On our way out we giggled as we made fun of the place ending it in “I hope one day they make it more enjoyable” bevause to be honest I really do like the place.

Ps. Unbelievable that when asked for a bag to put leftover plates in to carry out I was told I have to pay for it. Wow!

Pps. Unacceptable quality of disposable Utensils. Utterly horrible forks/spoons. Shame such an overly priced place to begin with can’t provide a good experience...
