Marshalls — Local services in Town of Huntington

Rude and discriminatory employees. My husband and I walked around the store for 15 mins and had only 2 small things in our cart. Upon getting to a tremendous line we figured that we would leave what we picked out vs waiting on a line for 30 mins. As we walk out the security alarm had rung, naturally I reversed and stood back in front of the security detectors and across the cashier. This cashier looked me straight in my face with a smirk and asked me “you sure you’re not stealing”. To a person is humble and works so hard to give them selfs what ever they want or desire this is offensive. I stood there as she was confused as to what to say or how to continue the conversation. I offered to stay there and they could #1 search me and my husband #2 replay security footage. Once she saw how offended and how serious I was on this situation she said,” pass back by the detectors again, if you’re not stealing why should I search you” detectors did not go off this time. This scene happened in-front of various customers. What an embarrassing situation. I’m sure this person was not trained properly on how to confront and diffuse a situation like this what so ever. One thing you should never do is jump to conclusions. I simply left instead of making a bigger scenario. I have always come here for the joy of shopping but will choose else where. Great for quick or long visits. Clothing for males/females of all ages although primarily for adults. Thousands of small items such as jewelry, candles, home items, small furniture pieces, luggage, cologne, work out gear, frames, shoes, etc.

Friendly staff. Fairly fast lines except during holiday or lunch hours, she the line can get very long.

If you do not have your actual hard copy receipt you may not be able to return items as they do not yet have the ability to look up your purchase on the credit card you used. You may get a store credit but could end up with less than you paid for it if it was marked down since you bought it. Tags on the returned item are a must.

Overall a good place to visit for discounted merchandise. Make sure you have time to spend if you are looking for clothing as although it is sorted by size, the designs are mixed up within the racks. My recent shopping trip to Marshalls offered a wide variety of items, but my experience took an unexpected turn when I felt extremely thirsty after browsing for a while. Marshalls does have a vending machine for drinks, but I found its placement quite inconvenient. The machine was located in the middle of the counter lanes, making it challenging for me to access without disrupting the checkout process.

I had to request a fellow shopper standing next to the machine to open the door and grab a water bottle for me. While I appreciated their assistance, I believe this situation could have been avoided with better vending machine placement. I strongly recommend repositioning the vending machines to a more accessible area where everyone can reach them without disturbing the checkout lanes.
