Hurricane Grill & Wings-Hauppauge — Restaurant in Town of Islip

What a shame! Have been here multiple times before and it's always been pretty decent, but this time the service killed it. Arrived on a Sunday evening to a half empty restaurant only to be told there was a "hold" on seating tables (what does that even mean) and there would be a 15 minute wait to get seated......ok, so we wait at the bar and have a drink in the meantime. Not as easy as it sounds when the bartender is running around the restaurant busing tables. Finally get a drink, finish my drink as well as everyone else and its now 35 minutes later. We have consequently watched a large amount takeout and door- dash orders be picked up, so we ask the hostess how much longer until we're seated, it's now 20 mins past the 15 mins she originally told us. She can't give us a straight answer or time so we give it 5 more minutes until we finally walk out. Thanks for utterly wasting my family's time Hurricanes!! A side note to the owners...you were obviously way understaffed and didnt want anyone to know, but you know what? When customers come out of their homes to visit your establishment, they should be your first priority, not online orders and door dash. Repeat business is what keeps your doors open and myself personally, i dont know if I'll be returning after this. Stopped going that much because the service has gone done each time we went. This time was no different. Went in and was greeted right away and sat down. It took the waitress about 5 minutes to come over, which we were fine with because we could figure out what we wanted to eat and drink. She greqts us and asks for our drinks and we order but before we can say anything she rushes off. At the time, maybe 3 tables beside us had people. She comes back with our drinks wrong (sodas without ice), but we shrugged it off. She once again was about to leave and I say we're ready to order. She didn't seem to be pleased but complies and asks what would you like to eat. We tell her our order and before she leaves we ask, "Can you bring the little ones food out with the appetizers"? She says nothing and leaves. She brings the appetizers out along with the kids food, but than we notice one appetizer isn't what we ordered and say something to her. She starts saying that's what you ordered and I said no we order fried pickles. Now she's getting annoyed and grabs the plate and runs off. Comes back with the right food. About 5 minutes later I finished my drink and wanted a refill but everytime she would walk by she wouldn't look by or come near the table. Finally getting her to come my table, I just ask for the check and to go boxes. We get the check,...

We decided to come here on our lunch break because we knew about their quick lunch menu. We were seated by the host at a table as there was no room at the bar for 4 people - big mistake. We sat down and our drink orders were taken, we were all puzzled as the host did not give us the lunch menu, but the dinner menu instead. When our waitress approached we asked for the correct menu, where she proceeded to belittle her coworker to us.

We all knew what we wanted almost immediately but it took her about 15 minutes to return and take our orders. We advised we'd prefer separate checks and she was more than helpful in this area.

When our food was finally brought to the table, we were left with a total of 8 minutes to inhale our lunches before she brought us the bill.

The food was mediocre, I got the Cancun Chicken Wrap and was unimpressed, my friends who ordered the wings said they were to die for (hence the title of the restaurant I guess!). Overall, my experience was by no means grand, but the staff was nice, the waitress was chatty, and it was pleasant. I'd only change the speed of service and a little bit...
