We just came back from a matinee at Flix Dipson in Lancaster and had a horrible experience. I'm very hard of hearing and we go to this Dipson theatre and also the one at the Mckinley Mall very often and I have to get the hearing assist headphones that they give you which amplifies the sound track for the movie. I've used these every time I've gone to one of their movies and never had any problem with them until now. When the movie started the scenes were being described with large gaps in scene sequence and not being repeated verbatim as the characters talked the lines. I said to my wife these must be new headphones and I don't like them as it is very difficult to follow the story line very much unlike the old headphones.I went to the front desk after the movie to ask why they switched over to these new headphones and the shift supervisor told me he didn't know that was how they operated either. He went and got the manager who came over and he said that there were two buttons on those headphones and if you pressed the one, it narrated the story line almost in a fashion where a blind person might want to hear the movie. No one ever mentioned this to us and throughout the whole movie I kept having to ask my wife "what did they say " over and over again. The manager did nothing in the way of compensation and I now have to go through my credit card company to dispute the charge they placed on the card. One would think that this same supervisor who handed me the headphone set would be knowlegeable about how they operated and would point something like that out to a patron who is sitting in the dark trying to turn the headphones on for use and not knowing that two buttons with separate fixtures existed. I saw this same supervisor again after I came out of the men's room and told him to tell the manager that I would seek to dispute the charge for the tickets and all he said was ok. Now we know where customer service stops at this place. Grab the money and to hell with the patrons. Incredibly poor management decisions being made here and I'm sure they will get a lot of lost business and revenue if their...
Read moreMy sons first time at a movie theater. We picked this one cause the seats looked nice and there were good reviews. However, I was sourly disappointed that they had no merchandise for the minecraft movie, and they sold out on Saturday. We came on monday cause my son is autistic so there is less wildness. Minecraft is huge, and to not have overstock is absolutely crazy. The floors were dirty, and normally, I'd write that off. However, that was the only movie time slot for that particular both that day, so I'm confused if it was popcorn sitting since yesterday. The first gentlemen was very polite and assuring. However, when I came back up for snacks the second guy said "oh god you get it I'll do rock paper scissors" with a look of disgust that interaction (weather he was just not wanting to work or annoyed that I complained about not having minecraft merchandise) should of been 5 minutes took 10 minutes and I missed a good chunk of my movie because of it. We ordered pizza, and the oven is so old it burnt the top/bottom was completely raw. My son is now home sick with stomachaches from it.
The seats were good. The heat didn't work, but it was nice to put my feet up. The quiet movie theater let me my son run around, which was nice.
Overall, it's not a terrible movie theater. Just fix the oven, make sure they sweep between showings, and anticipate your audience needs when it comes to...
Read moreWent to see the Mario movie, started at 2:45, paid 21$ for 2 tickets online. We showed up around 2:30, paid for a large drink and had our mobile tickets validated and took out paper receipts to the theater, #9 row f, seats 7 and 8. We get up there, the place is a mess, popcorn strewn all over the floor, and jackets in our seats. We go down to ask for someone to clean it up and ask what happened, when, someone who we assume to be a mid level manager, said across the bar that we shouldn't even be in the theater yet and they haven't finished cleaning the room. We reminded him that the movie was suppose to start in 5 min and that of course we should be in there, and why isn't it already clean. We also mentioned other people were already in the theater sitting waiting in row f seats 1,2 3, and 4. The manager kept arguing with us and turned real nasty, we asked for our money back and he would only give us back 19 instead of the 21 we paid. Really disappointed with the manager here and I don't recommend...
