Not what I'm looking for. I managed to work around the deadlift by sticking to heavy shrugs and squat for a similar effect. I was worried about my breathing heavy since they don't like grunts, I lift weight within challenging ranges so I can't help it. These were perfectly fine, good people seem to be training here as the gym goers were polite and even complimented each other. Downside, rude staff who communicated poorly. First month I paid cash so I can test the gym and not get stuck in hard to cancel contracts. I was told I had a full week to put my card in an online account or I "cannot" work out after the first week. Within two days this tune changed as I was told by the same person I wouldn't be able to come the next day. So not a fan of predatory business practices.
Hours are also poorly explained, as listed right on the wall, open hours were supposedly 12am to 10pm. This is inaccurate and I had to get a staff member to tell me what the real hours were. This would be nice to know since it wasted a big chunk of time for me.
Edit: I get the feeling they have poor competition in the area. The other nearby gym Maximum fitness has the same issues. Inaccurate time and very rude staff. Only extra peeve was the gym goers like to waste time "SITTING" on a station talking so slightly less serious culture compared to planet fitness which is odd in...
Read moreNever ever been spoken to rudely by staff. I donât care how bad your day is going, do not project that to your members- on top of that I get that their crew stick out for each other- crew to gen manager- so I got a response âI know him, he wouldnât do thatâ so I get called a liar, when I legit had an arguement in front of 5 staff members - all because from day 1 no one cared to do their job and sign me in properly- being that Iâm a member at another facility. He even told me âI donât want to bring in my tag or take a picture then I donât need to be hereâ like excuse you?! WTH. I paid to be here. Members like me pays people like you to stay open I guess you get what you paid for when you go to these kind of gyms but never once in my life (me being a manager at a different fitness studio) have been so rudely attacked because he âgot in troubleâ last night about it. That isnât my problem- my problem is when you decide to tell me Iâve given you sly remarks and attitude when the reality is I donât even know what your talking about! So this gym blatantly called me a liar, with an attitude problem âsupposedlyâ and Iâm probably the nicest person and know how to professionally deal with customers- this place sucks in customer service. Take your...
Read moreI called the Planet Fitness on 39 N Plank Road in Newburgh because my app wasnât showing my check-ins from my current trip to Cincinnati. Shannon answered and instantly turned what could have been a stressful call into something easy and pleasant.
She was incredibly patient and upbeat the entire time, even when my situation was a little confusing (my first PF visit was in Cincinnati even though my home club is Newburgh). She never made me feel embarrassed or rushed. Instead, she laughed with me when I laughed out of nervousness, and she searched every possible way to find my account â all with a genuine smile in her voice.
What really stood out was how much she cared about helping me. It wasnât just about fixing a technical issue; she made me feel like I was talking to a friend. And when the app finally updated and my check-ins appeared, she celebrated with me and even double-checked to make sure I didnât need anything else.
Thatâs what excellent customer service looks like â not just solving a problem, but treating people with kindness and warmth. Shannon turned a small tech hiccup into a five-star experience. Planet Fitness truly has...
