I'm new to Pilates. I have also not formally exercised for many years, so I knew I had to find the right studio if I was going to stick with it. There were no reformer studios I liked in my neighborhood, so It was a challenge to find the right one. I tried 3 studios, but on a whim, I decided to try Art of Pilates Greenvale which was a bit further away. I didn't know what I was looking for, but when I tried this studio, I knew this was it! Not only is the atmosphere great - almost spa-like and extremely clean - but the staff is so warm and inviting, it makes you want to come back! I have herniated discs and limited range of motion. I was worried I wouldn't be able to keep up. My fears were put to rest when I saw that most of the instructors are mindful of modifying for people who need it, like me. The classes go by quickly and I'm always happy I went. I love this studio! It's worth the almost 30 minute trip...
Read moreWhat an amazing studio!! I canât say enough about this place, but let me tryâŚ. My 1st class was an 8am on Thursday, Alexis (who a student said was the best and she didnât lie) was the teacher who I am now kinda obsessed with because I leave so sore(in a good way) and revived she really teaches such an amazing class and is encouraging which makes me want to work harder. There was an area to sign in and cups with clean pens and a place to put them once you use them which made me feel great knowing the studio took extra precautions to be safe. The studio is so clean and organized ( wipes and spray bottles everywhere) Even the members were so friendly( which is rare) and helped me since I was new and another bonus is as soon as I sign up for a class I get a reminder email which I love. I am so glad that I found this place and itâs worth the 30 minute...
Read moreIf youâre looking for a âclickâ this is the place for you! Everyone is very friendly- but only to each other. If youâre a newbie there expect attitude. The instructors have zero patience and actually call people out instead of helping them do the exercise properly. I had bought a groupon and have taken reformer classes in the past. Lorna the instructor not only made me feel embarrassed but practically scolded me in front of the whole class. With that being said it was my first class with them and I was not told it was a intermediate class. In hindsight I would have liked to take a beginners just so I understood the routines. I do pilates because I enjoy it and itâs a stress relief, thank gosh this wasnât my first encounter with pilates or else Iâd probably hate it. Needless to say I wonât be going back or recommending...
