Centro Cucina — Restaurant in Town of North Hempstead

Went here on a date with my boyfriend recently and the food was AMAZING. Definately recommend the eggplant stuffed with goat cheese, calamari, and buffalo mozzarella pizza. It was so good, and medium priced. The only reason I'm not giving this place 5 stars is because we were seated during a rush, and it felt like they were trying to rush us out of there to get others seated. Everyone including the owner was super nice, but both the main course and appetizers came out at the same time and very quickly, and as soon as we were done we got the check, which didn't give us much time to talk and what not. Why have I ignored Centro for so long?? My first bite transported me back to Italy! Each dish was perfect. I'm so tired of restaurants overwhelming our tastebuds with salt and sugar these days that the actual food disappears into it. How refreshing it is to actually taste a chef's culinary skill come through. The chicken parm was lightly breaded and moist, the accompanying spaghetti was al dente and sauce was magnifico. This place is pricey, nevertheless its well worth the amount. Their menu is well rounded & diverse. IMHO Consistency IS VITAL to a successful restaurant. They have achieved this & are maintaining a superb level of cuisine & service. The specials were creative & blissful especially the lightly breaded zucchini florets appetizers. I had Mediterranean Sea Bass ( words will fall short, suffice to say it was as close to perfection as it could possibly get)...
