I made an appointment at Eye & I in Great Neck. I received a call the day before to confirm my appointment. I asked if there was an earlier appointment that day. The women said no. I received a call back later in the day saying there is an earlier. I told her I will take it. I arrived at my appointment time 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork since I was a new patient. I was called in to the pre testing room to test my eyes before the Dr. sees me. I finished with these tests was told to sit and wait for the Dr. As I was waiting to see the Dr, I was thinking to myself this is a nice place, they use very up-dated equipment. Then I was approached by they front desk lady, asking me if the patient that just come in see the Dr before me because she needed to be at work at a specific time. Well you know I need to be back at work at a specific time also. I told the lady no, can you please look at my eyes, I came in because they are red and hurting me. She then told me that my original appointment was for an hour later I said you called me with an earlier appointment. Then he asked that I come back later in the day. I said to her you are going to reschedule my appointment because this patient needs to be back a work. Please look at my eyes they are red, swollen and they hurt me and you are asking me to come back.REALLY!!! Well, needless to say she had that patient go into the room and see the dr before me. I know why she did it,...but will not say it here. This is not how you run the office?!?!?. She knew she did the wrong thing because she kept apologizing to me. I am so angry!! Read moreI am writing a review a year later as I have had another eye exam with another optometrist and had a much more pleasant experience and I don't understand the 5 star reviews. Why was I the only one with a not 5 star experience. Dr. Leung did not listen when I said I cannot see and gave me the wrong prescription. It took like almost 5 months of trial and error of trying contacts. I was constantly telling him that I cannot see in them and he just tells me to try them 2 weeks at a time with the trials and see if my eyes adjust. They did not. It was so frustrating to keep going back and forth. I was so tired of that and basically gave up and just asked for the prescription. The exam also took like an hour? Even the glasses prescription felt off. I sucked it up for a year and just accepted that I was just not going to be able to see that far. REALLY BAD if I have to squint to see in a new prescription. I really thought something was wrong with my eyes that my exam was so long and there was so much trial and error. I went to another optometrist just last week and omg I can effing see. The exam took not even 30 minutes for both glasses and contacts and when I got my prescription, looks like Dr Leung was off by - 0.50 and - 0.75 on both eyes. Dr. Han has been treating my eyes ever since I started experiencing chronic dry eye disease and has educated me about all types of eye drops, treatments, and procedures that I could go about with and I appreciated that she let me know all of the options and walked me through each possibility. Due to her help, I’ve went from not wanting to open my eyes from them being so dry to being able to function day to day in my work and studies.
This new location is specifically focused for catering to dry eyes. I appreciated the new technology that was able to detect the different tear evaporation times in different areas of my pupil, the length of my tear film, the health of my cornea surface, to name a few.
The dry eye clinic is a beautiful new, clean space with a modern feel. The staff members Joy and Alex were so welcoming and thorough in their work as soon as I stepped in the office to when I left.
