Y I K E S. I’ll start by saying that my interaction with the staff was less than 5 minutes, but imagine how horrid they must have been for me to compel to write a review about it. I don’t write negative reviews often, but this was just unacceptable.
My family and I came one Monday afternoon. There were two staff members at the doors. An elder, white male just behind the doors to the street and a young, black male behind another set of doors, on the inside of the store. Upon walking up to the doors, the elder male made no notice to my family, while the young male just stared. We stood there for a couple seconds to see if they would acknowledge us, but after seeing no movement, I opened the doors myself. I was immediate hit with a “no no, my list is full” by the elder male, while stepping slightly forward. Immediately, i see and hear the young male snicker at the interaction through his cracked open door. The elder male then proceeds to tell me we will need to come back in 45 minutes. When I asked if I needed to leave a name or number, he immediately responded back with no. How do you have a “full” list, if you’re not taking anyones names/numbers? Mind you, the plaza was empty and the store was EMPTY with the exception of 1 other patron inside.
Obviously, with a “full list” on his clipboard, and other reviews about “taking a number”, the elder man just ushered us away without leaving contact info, im assuming, because we didn’t LOOK like we would buy anything. Of course this is all speculation, but regardless of the true reason, it’s ridiculous the amount of rudeness that could be exchanged in a mere short minute. I thought I was being ridiculous until I came to look at the reviews of this store after our visit. How horrible to see they are consistently rude to guests at all stages of their...
Read moreMy boyfriend went into this store the other day to buy me a birthday gift I have wanted forever. Upon walking in he was dressed normal in jeans and a t-shirt NO ONE would help him! Instead he asked an older woman to help him and was nothing but RUDE to him! Granted, I work right down the block from Hermes and this is how you treat your customers ?! He walked in knowing exactly what I wanted and it was like she couldn't be bothered and kept saying that they didn't have the belt when in fact they did. Then she tried scheming how he needed to buy the buckle with the belt and wasn't sold separate. That is complete total BS lady! We were at the Hampton classic you can buy them separate!!! I wish I was in the store with him this day to tell your staff off on how crappy your service is! It's funny once he tells the sales woman that I'm an equestrian her ENTIRE Atitude changes!!!! What was his money not good enough?!! Then the cashier, evelenya or whatever her name is was rude to him as well demanding a gift receipt when he told her 10 times he didn't need it!!! Then he gives her his card and she looked at it like it wasn't good enough or it was going to decline ... Seriously ?!?!? You had to double ask him if he was sure it would go through. Your staff needs a wake up call on customer service big time !!!! That is not how you represent a brand !! If I knew he was getting me this belt I would have bought it at the Hampton classic where we were treated sooooo much better than your crappy...
Read moreOn August 6, I attended the Hermès sale at Americana Manhasset. I want to say there is a lot of false information about what went on outside on line. I received a ticketed number and then a corresponding text keeping me fully abreast of what time to come shop. The new electronic texting protocol was spot-on and I had no problems whatsoever with the line or crowd. The entire process went smoothly. Priscilla and her team couldn’t have been more gracious – one of the male associates even tried on a men’s sweater so I could gauge what size I needed to buy as a gift. Each client was greeted and offered water along with hand sanitizer and gloves if desired.
Given the challenges of social distancing and and damage to Americana’s surrounding areas due to Tropical Storm Isaias, the Hermès team did a great job working through the hurdles and I commend them for their professionalism! I have been to Hermes sales in multiple other locations and people always complain about the wait and line. But that is to be expected when so many people want access to the Hermes sale.
I also want to note that on Friday Aug 7 all stores at Americana lost power. A friend texted me and told me when power returned at 4 pm, Hermes was the only store to open. Priscilla and her team stayed open to accommodate all those who waited to shop. The team went above and beyond - and showed how committed they are to providing good customer service even in such challenging...
