The Apple store has always been a great place to shop and the staff has been terrific. My experience yesterday was quite the opposite. They claim to have taken measures in place to protect the safety of customers and employees due to Covid. I had gone over there to look for a new iPad and was told that they were allowing people in by appointment only. I went home, made an appointment and went back at my scheduled time several days later. . There was a long line outside and I asked if everyone online had an appointment and I was told they had to or would not be allowed in. Six people walked in front of me on the line and refused to move. I asked them if they had appointments and they said no and I told them they would not be allowed in without an appointment. I was wrong!
When I got to the front of the line the people who had gotten in front of me were engaged in a long talk with the manager. She let them in while I was standing outside in the cold. When it came to my turn I told her that I was upset by that those without an appt were I allowed into the store she was rude and told me that if people know what they want to buy they are allowed in. I suggested they should then wait in a separate line.
The store was crowded and obviously not observing the guidelines. I asked to speak to the managerās supervisor who was rude as well.. I told her as a senior I was trying to be cautious and minimize my time in stores. I now had to wait 15 minutes or more to be seen by an associate although I was there on time for my appt. Her response was if I donāt want to be in stores I should shop online. I told her itās hard to pick up a tablet and see how it feels in my hand by shopping online. When I finally did see a sales associate he was terrific, helpful and I was in and out with my buying decision within a few minutes.
The manager and her supervisor should go for retraining and learn how to operate a store and treat customers properly. They should also observe safety guidelines.Customers can wait outside until the person they are seeing is ready for them. Thatās watās done by. doctors, dentists and for other appointments.

I have a iMac 27ā that kept restarting by itself. I brought it in to manhasset as theyāre the closest location from my house. But itās still a good 40 minute drive.
I asked their Genius Bar about my issue. Why is it happening, what can I do to not let it happen again; they gave me such runaround answers basically saying that they donāt know. So they ran diagnostics and eventually we agreed that the ram needed to be replaced. $250 job.
The computer worked fine for a few months then the problem persisted. Mind you, I use the computer mainly for Logic Pro x. So Iām not doing anything crazy with it. I go back to them and state that theyāve already fixed the issue but itās happening again. The computer wouldnāt load normally. It was want able to get into the login screen (important). They tell me itās the ram sticks again. They even said to go somewhere else to fix it!! But this time, the technician tells me that I can trade it in for $830 (an outright lie on their part). But they were closing so I wasnāt able to trade it right then and there.
At the time I didnāt know my computer would have to load up normally to get the full trade in value. Only after going home and researching did I find this out. So why did your technician give me false information and false hope? This is what I mean by they cannot handle repairs more complex. Donāt go here for repairs. They just donāt know what theyāre doing behind the smiles and friendliness. Smiles donāt produce viable solutions.
Eventually I had to go to Apple of Roosevelt field. They gave me the correct diagnostic. Turns out, it was the logic board. This ran me a good $600.
Hopefully future repair customers remember this review. Go somewhere else for your repair. It will save you a headache, money, gas , and time.
Also, why doesnāt anyone answer the phone here? Iāll be on hold for 10 minutes, then I hear someone pick up for a split second then back on hold. Honestly giving this store 1 star is generous.

First Ill put why I put a 1 star review. 2 parts: first I had my old MacBook Pro in for service and ended up trading it in and getting credit on a gift card as well as I returned the new m2 MacBook Air which didnt fit my work load so I inquired about the 14 inch 64 gb 2 tb MacBook Pro. I was told that they didn't have that in store and that they never have them in store. so not thinking about it and going with the advisor I instead got the new 13 inch MacBook Pro. Now this is a computer I used daily and is for my work. I have a heavy work flow and a lot of apps programs plug ins running simultaneously and needed that 64 gb of ROM and I realized this when I got home. I also realized that they did have the model I needed in stock and not just this location but several other locations in the area. Im dissapointed because now I have another headache and at the time I had the money and could have purchased the computer I needed but now I have to do a return and try to get the one that I need because this isn't fast enough either. I know its my own fault and my responsibility because I should research it but its also I would think apple associates responsibilities to provide the customer with correct and accurate information in regards to product availability. That should not have been my responsibly as I do not have access to in store inventory numbers etc. Also part of the negative, after I purchased this MacBook I also ordered the iPhone 14 pro to pick up in store, and the lady at the front of the store checking people in was extremely rude and disrespectful. Talking blatantly about me in front of me and other co workers and customers. very unprofessional. Now for the reason I wish I could give a 5 Star review. Big props to Diego one of the managers for really going above and beyond in helping me with my trade in and return I know that my situation was unique and a little complicated but he was able to help me out with what needed to be rectified in store from a prior purchase.
