Regardless of what you order, they deliver what they have and hope that you’ll take it. Today was my third bad experience picking up an order at Main Street Meats. I asked for 2 fillets, trimmed totaling 9 pounds, which would have meant that they each had to weigh about 4 1/2 pounds or some combination of that. When I went to pick up the order, the two fillets we just over 7 pounds. As per the order that I called in a week earlier, 9 pounds was written clearly on the ticket. When I asked for larger ones they told me they didn’t have anything else. I left and went to restaurant depot, but now I need tot trim them. I’m not going back again.

Response... Thank you for responding to my post. I realize you have run a successful business for many years. You have been around for a long time for a reason. However, I do not think you are being realistic in your feedback to me. Had you said, we are busy for the holidays and didn't look at the instructions on your order, it would have been believable. 9 LBS of untrimmed tenderloin, would weigh much less than 7-8lbs, after it was trimmed. The order was a little over $170, which means that they weighed over 13lbs before they were trimmed. This is kind of tough to believe too. Almost 50% of the tenderloins were trimmed off? Wow!

Thanks for the offer, but I don't think I will be coming back

Merry...

So disappointed! I live in farmingdale for nearly 28 years and have been going to farmingdale meat market for 28 years. Today I walked in and there were no customers. There was one gentleman behind the window and the other behind the meat counter, which by the way he was on his phone standing over the counter. I asked for 32 chicken cutlets extra thin. He told me he had the chicken cutlets in the package and they were thin so I told him I have already purchased them and I would like them extra thin. He replied back to me that they can’t do that. I asked him if he can open the packages and pound them thinner, he replied they don’t have a pounder. Farmingdale Meat Market is a butcher that distributes to hundreds of restaurants in Nassau and Suffolk and I am sure other areas. There is 100’s of Farmingdale Meat Market trucks parked in the lot off of Main Street. You don’t have a pounder to pound 32 chicken cutlets extra thin? Or you just didn’t want to because you were very busy on your phone? I left without chicken cutlets stunned and so disappointed as a 28...

Was extremely disappointed with my latest experience, I ordered in advance about a week in advance osso Bucco 10 pieces at 16.99 a lb. fresh not frozen. When I called to see if order was ready no one could find it, it was either not ordered or never received no one could give me a straight answer on this. I would have gone anywhere else who told me they do get fresh Osso Bucco, Stew Leonard's or Swan Meats, but I was now in a time crunch and could not wait 2 days for anyone else to order the number I needed, so I had to take it frozen from Farmingdale meats, and it was not good. I do not know how long the meat had been frozen, did not get a straight answer on this question either, and I have only ever cooked this kind of meat fresh, but this time around it was not good, the meat was tough and full of tough cartilaginous or tendinous. At the price for this meat, I was very disappointed. My guests also found the meat not as good as on prior occasions I have served it and bought fresh at...

I have been going to this Butcher since I was a kid (30 years ago) and my Mom used to take me here. The quality of the staff is only exceeded by the quality of the meat. I have friends who live upstate and they tell me that to get the same quality I get here they have to pay twice as much. When they have a good flash sale (just sign up for the emails, they have multiple sales for emails only per week) my friends will call me up and make me buy it for them too. The butchers are also very knowledgeable on recipes, how to cut and trim the meat and how best to store it. I recently got a used smoker and tried my first brisket and the Butcher was a big help with that. I also sometimes help out at local food kitchens and I have been able to convince them let me buy meat at a reduced price to donate to the kitchen. This family run operation blows any supermarket away and most of the other butchers on long island. This is the only place I go to get my meat on long island. It should be yours too.

Today my husband and I picked up a filet tenderloin for Christmas dinner (which we saved for). The butcher cut and trimmed the loin into steaks and then told us he would give us the trimmings as ground beef. We had never heard of this before and so tonight’s dinner was burgers. Hands down the best burgers we have ever had. We have 6 more frozen burgers for another night and 20 more ounces for another dinner. What a freaking joy to find a good butcher who is not just good at his craft but also knows how to make every piece of meat count. He could have just tossed the scraps but he gave us a few extra delicious dinners that will help in these tough times. Thank you 🙏 you’ve earned a loyal customer.

Definitely worth the trip. I BBQ and smoke everyday weekend. The briskets are off the hook and I run out of the ribs when I make them. I actually have my kids friends texting me asking what’s on the menu. The rib eyes are outstanding plus all the help is extremely helpful and polite. Just so you know…I’m handicapped and I pull up in back and they bring out everything yo the black dodge pickup lol. Next weekend is burnt pork ends from the slab pork belly I got. Give it a try. It won’t disappoint
