Edit: Even reading the response from whomever responded does not seem like the store has much customer service. Addressing the poor customer service so it doesn't happen to other customers is what I was hoping for.
I called the store looking for a USB 3.0 A to B Cable (online it does say they sell it I did not want to drive there if it was not in stock) the employee cut me off and said come on in we have all sorts of USB cords. I said well can you check because I called the Poughkeepsie store and they did not have it. The employee then responded and said "oh if they don't have it neither do we". To which I replied well can you go check because it says online you sell it, is this not customer service? The employee then hung up on me. I then called back and said I was hung up on, the employee then responded with " well if you weren't running your mouth I would have helped you" I'm not sure how asking the employee to basically do their job is me running my mouth and to have an employee speak to a customer like that is completely unacceptable. I then asked to speak with the manager. She transfered me to the manager who didn't care in the least that the employee spoke to me this way and when I asked if she could check on the cord said if I had the part number (um, ok) no I didn't have the part number and asked if she could check by the name. Which she did, and came back on and said they didn't have it. The manager didn't even address the poor customer service from the employee until I asked for both her name and the managers name. I will never go to that Staple or any Staples for that matter when I can get better service from Office Depot or Amazon.
The employee never gave their name but when I asked the manager she said she wasn't sure who answered the phone, so I said okay I can wait because I will contact corporate. So she came back and said their name was Elizabeth and the managers name was Kristy (honestly the manager should have apologized as soon as I told her the employee hung up on me and then told me I was running my mouth. Seems like better training in customer service should...
Read moreBought printer ink for my ho. Asked salesperson to look it up since I had not planned on going there and the clerk obliged told me what I needed and I bought the ink. Got home opened the package and put the cartridges in. They did not work and I brought the cartridges back with the sales slip. Their message machine states returns accepted within a month with receipt. I returned cartridges with The appropriate receipt. Cashier looked at me and said you have used these. I said yes I put them in the printer but they sales person gave me the wrong ink and she proceeded to tell me again that I had used them. One thing led to another because of her snarky behavior and the manager took the return and gave me the proper inj. When I complained about the clerk the manager said she didn't mean anything by that because they don't except returns opened ink cartridges. I Felt disrespected and accused of trying to pull one over on them by returning used cartridges. There was no apology just saying how nice the salesgirl was and how she wouldn't do anything to insult A customer. I am not going to shop in a store that doesn't acknowledge their mistake and defends a millennial who doesn't know how to...
Read moreI have had bad experiences with this store but what really drove this review is the terrible service they provided today. They claimed to have a power outage, although the lights and cash registers were on. And while the employees and manager grouped together they turned about 15 people away with a simple wave. However, the worse thing was that they didn’t have the decency to speak and explain to anyone when they would re-open. When we saw one of the workers by the door we asked her if she could hand us an item we had printed and was notified by email it was ready, she said she would ask the manager. We needed the printed item for tomorrow and we ordered it early in the day to ensure we had it. The manager, Paula, sent her associate to tell us, “I am in the middle of something.” Paula didn’t have the time to come by and help us with an urgent matter, in a store she claimed was close with no power. Horrendous customer service and unfortunately no accountability. The sad part is, as I read other reviews, we aren’t the first complaint. We understand wanting to start their holiday early, but not the expense of so many people needing to take care of things before a...
