My boyfriend and I made an online appointment to test drive the Model Y 7 Seater. The process was simple. When we arrived we met with Chris, the sales person and he was extremely helpful and answered any questions we had. After the test drive we went to his desk to figure out the finance option with our trade in estimate, which was done through our phone on the Tesla app. How awesome and easy! We found the one with all the options we wanted that would arrive in 2 weeks in which the VIN was assigned to us.
By the following day my boyfriend had already been approved for the loan. He submitted the photos of the trade in and title, got insurance for the car and we were now waiting for our delivery day. Which was two weeks away..
The day before pickup (Sunday, 8/31) @ 4pm we received a call from Rainey saying she could not accept our trade in because the title had already been signed. Then she later backtracked and said she would have worked with us on that issue but the name was now a "misprint" and she would not accept it. I understand that there are policies that the employees must abide to but to tell us the day before pick up, less than 24 hours away, that she could not accept a document was extremely unprofessional. Especially when they had two weeks to notify us, to give us the right amount of time to rectify the situation.
The misprint of the name was because I forgot to print my middle name, it wasn't the signature that was an issue. I then wrote my name the exact way she requested and she says that the title is now tampered with and she could not accept but she could hold the vehicle for us for a week until the title came. Which was unacceptable because it was Labor Day and we wouldn't have been able to get the title within that time frame even if it was expediated to us.
We had to refinance without the trade in. Rainey was unhelpful. It was such an unpleasant experience that I couldn't fully enjoy the vehicle.
I made an appointment with Carvana with the same title that she rejected and they accepted it. They made us sign another form just in case DMV would not accept the title on hand and that they were able to request a new one. The whole process took less than 20 mins. Ordering a Tesla through their app is super easy but every buyer has to pay $250. After placed an order they keep changing the delivery location.I lived in Queens but car was delivered from this location. Being a Tesla owner in future I will never buy Tesla anymore because there is so many mechanical and software issues with this car especially when you are in long drive .Even though I purchased a brand new car , for service problem I have to wait for weeks and they give buyer hard time to resolve the issue. The main issue with this car is in extreme weather like extreme cold or extreme hot car will keep loosing the energy even you are driving or not driving. Other main issue with this car is mileage range , means when I purchased this car it drove 280 miles after 80 pct charge . After year of use now mileage decreased to 242. I made an appointment for service they remotely checked my car and canceled the appointment by saying that battery health is in good condition so we cannot do anything so it means after 5 or 6 years of use I have useless structure of the car and then I have to spend thousands of dollars more to replace the battery. Third main issue with this car is suspension. Car runs really great on flat surface on highway but not great little potholes or little rough roads. On slow speeds like 25 miles per hour car start rattle and shaking like earthquake which is really annoying. Fourth main issue with auto enhanced system which cost me $6000 extra . It doesn’t work properly, it doesn’t park at home driveway or side streets, it’s only work in parking lots of malls if it has enough empty space. So it’s useless and not trustable at all. Fifth main issue When I was placing an order , it’s also ask me question if I want to install two extra seats. I made a mistake to do that because when I open two extra seats no one can sit in that car . I notified them within a month but they refused to solve the issue and I got charged $2500 extra. Read moreI purchased a 2021 Tesla Model S Long Range online and picked it up at this location. The car was brand new and giving to us with a broken trunk. The trunk would not lock and remained open no matter what we tried. The dealer took the car back into the building and said it needed a new door motor. We were told it would take around 1hr. 2 hours later I was told just 45 more minutes. Then finally 1 hour later I was asked to take a loner car. From our 12pm pick up time we received the car at 7pm. When I returned at 7pm everyone had left for the day and the woman that originally taken the car back lost our 2nd key.I was given a $200 gift card to tesla's online store and told that a service representative would drop off a key the following day . I was hoping this wasn't normal practice for tesla... Fast forward to today and I dropped the car off for a camera error code after making a appointment 2 week ago. I was told they know what the issue is and it would take 1hr to complete. I came back 1hr and 45 minutes later and I was told that the mechanics didn't even look at the car yet. When I said why not the representative said "maybe you didn't notice but the shop is really busy today". Needless to say I was extremely upset with that reply. I informed him that we had a loss In the family and my wife and I were needed in Staten Island asap. He said he would put me on the waiting list and we would be next. I own several cars all high end (BMW & Audi) and have never been treated this way at any of the dealers. I paid 90k for the car and expected a little more respect for my time . This is a huge problem for me and my wife. We are worried about how we will be treated in the case of a more serious repair. It seems the staff is made up of kids that do not know the value of time. I will be trading the car in shortly for a Audi Etron where the customer service is far better.
