We purchased a certified, pre-owned Dodge Durango from Smith Haven Chrysler Jeep Dodge a little over a week ago and this was by far the nicest, smoothest vehicle purchase I have ever made. Everything about our experience was 5-Star beginning with our sales professional, Tylor Powell.
Tylor greeted us promptly with a warm, engaging smile, a firm handshake and just an overall welcoming demeanor. He listened to not only the things I was looking for in a vehicle, but he also worked carefully with us to get us to a number we were happy with. He never tried to show me something outside of that number in the hopes we would fall in love with it, then apply the usual sales tactics to push us out of our price range. I am well aware that his goal is to make money, but he never once made me feel like all he saw was dollar signs when looking at me. He was genuinely happy to work with us and he wanted to see us in something that was both beautiful and within our price range.
When my husband and I needed time to discuss numbers and what we could afford, Tylor knew how to read the room. He got up from his desk and gave us privacy while we spoke. He didn't come back every two minutes to ask if we had come to a decision. Instead, he paid attention from a distance and came back only when he sensed we had another question for him.
Tylor is also very knowledgeable about the inventory that is on hand, as well as what each vehicle has to offer. This was the first vehicle I was buying in 15 years. So much has changed in the technology alone and I had a million questions. He fielded each one with ease and the patience of a saint. He helped me choose a vehicle that is beautiful, in pristine condition, has low mileage AND that has all the bells and whistles that put a smile on my face. Iâd also like to mention that he possesses the rare ability to know how to roll with the punches without breaking his own professional decorum. My husband and I are both characters. We talk banter and joke A LOT. Some people don't know how to take us, but Tylor seemed to enjoy our silliness, and he never crossed the line by throwing his own humor into the mix.
We didn't pick up our vehicle until about 4 days later. During that time, he responded to my messages quickly. On the day we took delivery, he once again took his time to go over everything with us, and answer all our questions. Once all the paperwork was signed, he sat with me in the truck and explained how all of the features work.
Bill, the finance manager was also great. Heâs another example of professionalism and knowledge without any of the pushy upselling. He explained all of our finance options and the different extended warranties available to us, and how each would affect our overall monthly payment, but he never tried to push us into anything.
I truly donât have anything negative to say about my experience with this dealership, or any of the employees we interacted with. I have had the truck just over a week, and there is NO buyer's remorse. There hasnât been any unpleasant surprises with the truck itself. When we were inspecting the vehicle, my husband noticed that the floor mats were missing. Tylor promptly took note of it and made sure mats were placed inside. Later in the evening after I took the truck home, I noticed that one of the hand grips on the inside of the tailgate was missing the insert. I took photos and sent them to Tylor and he is working on getting it replaced for me. I will be glad to give an update on that once I know the outcome.

They took the time to listen to and understand my needs and budget. I was completely satisfied with the overall experience. So much so that I would recommend all my fiends and family to shop here. From the time I walked in the door to the time i picked up my new vehicle the customer service was above and beyond. The facility was clean, organized and ran efficiently. They really respected my time and we were able to complete the purchase from start to finish in less than 3 hours (including the test drive) which anywhere else would have been a whole day ordeal. We took the truck for a test drive. I didnt feel rushed which was nice. You want to really feel out a vehicle your gonna be using everyday for years to come. Bryan answered every question I had about the vehicle and even went over some items I didnt even consider. Bryan went over in detail all of the features and functions of the vehicle. He even connected my phone to the vehicle for me. He was very knowledgeable and great at his job. The paperwork was quick and easy. Everything done there is straightforward and there are no hidden fees or games played, which is very refreshing. We were able to come to an agreement on a very fair price for the truck, and in a very professional manner. There were no high pressure sale tactics at all which i respect very much. The truck was delivered to me in perfect condition. All signs and stickers completely removed. There wasnt any left over sticky residue from the signs either. They took their time making sure the vehicle was 100% clean and all items functioning correctly when the vehicle was ready for pickup. A day or 2 later they called me to make sure everything was good and to ensure that everything met my expectations. This was by far the best experience I have ever had purchasing a new vehicle.    Read moreI am extremely disappointed in how I was spoke to and treated by the Operations Director Dan Matuza . I brought my truck in due to my transmission slipping. They said they could not find out what was wrong, so I had to paid a diagnostic fee which I did. Two days later truck continued doing the same, so I videoed it and sent it to advisor Tim who is fantastic. So I said I was coming in for an oil change and inspection and asked for a loaner again. I got to dealer and there was no loaner for me. So I went home and sent an email to them about how upset I was. Long story short I got a call a couple days later and they had a loaner car for me. So this time they found that I needed a new transmission on a 3 year old truck. Two weeks go by and my truck was ready but one problem they lost my key so I couldnât pick up my truck. So here we are the third week and I came to pick up my truck as they replaced the key that they lost. So I asked to speak to the manager which apparently is Dan Matuza. I asked if they would comp me the bolts on my exhaust that they changed when doing my covered work due to all the problems. He is an obnoxious person and really needs to learn how to speak to people in a calm manner. He kept blaming me saying how they did everything for me and they ate days on loaner and the key. Mind you itâs there fault why I could not get my car. They lost my key. Anyway I am extremely disappointed and unhappy with the way I was spoken to by Dan Matuza .
