Hudson Valley Mall part 2 photo dump. This mall is located in Ulster County (Kingston, NY)

Alright, so I might be a bit young to remember the golden days of the Hudson Valley Mall, but even I can tell things have changed a lot. The mall used to be this vibrant place with a ton of stores and activities. They had big names like Macy’s, JC Penney, and Sears, along with cool shops like Finish Line, Spencer’s, and Hollister. The food court was bustling with spots like East Wok and Rita’s Water Ice, and there was even a Regal Cinemas which later became NCG Cinemas. But now? It feels almost deserted. Macy’s left in 2016, JC Penney closed in 2015, and Sears shut down too. Best Buy closed in October 2020, and even the smaller stores are gone. The food court is completely empty now since East Wok closed down by May 2022. Buffalo Wild Wings, which opened in 2008, closed in 2012 and then reopened in a different location in 2019. It's really sad to see. I hope the newest owners can bring it back to the good old days. The community misses how lively and fun the mall used to be. Fingers crossed they can turn things around!

Unfortunately this mall is super dead I would say about 5-10 stores remain and not much longer... The Target and movie theater is still around but other than that I predict this mall will close by next year, I would be very surprised if it would survive by 2025... Some homeless people and "interesting" folks walking around mall... (under the influence) Overall wasn't here in the earlier times but as of right now its done for...

This mall used to be amazing about 20 years back. When I was young, this mall was so lively that it was filled to the brim with cars all throughout the parking lot and stores in the mall as far as the eye could see.

I have SO MANY cherished memories of this mall, back when I was small. It was so amazing back then. Back when the PS2 was the "big thing" and video games only costed about $20.

How time flies...it's unfortunate, but I went here recently, just last Friday, as a matter of fact. (On the 12th of April, 2024.) Unfortunately, it is completely dead, as others have said.

I walked around for a bit and only saw two stores open in the ENTIRE mall: A local Gamestop, and, a hair place right in the front of the mall. It's tragic that this mall ended up in this shape.

To this day I still wonder how this mall ran so much out of business to be an abandoned ghost town, and how it still operates to this day.

It's in the heart of Kingston, a bustling city. It shouldn't be in this sorry state. I hope that, someday in the future, in my lifetime hopefully, that this mall can once again return to its former bustling state.

And that my kids in the future can experience the magic someday that I also felt back 20+ years ago, now. I used to love coming to this mall. I'll NEVER EVER forget it! May it rest in peace,...

Great place to walk around and get exercise and chill out and watch YouTube on your phone and do whatever else that you consider relaxing. However this mall needs to have more services and stores to offer like how it did back in the day. It’s crazy how this mall is so empty now and looks like a high school at nighttime. Back in the day this mall had JCPenney, Macy’s, Best Buy and now they don’t even have a food court anymore and I don’t know why the mall ended up like this. What I would recommend is if this property group knocks down this mall and build a bigger and better mall similar to the Palisades mall or Danbury mall and put back more department stores in here including Best Buy, GameStop and put an Apple Store and big food court and put Cheesecake Factory here just like the Danbury mall has. They can also put a Bounce pickleball and miniature golf place here too. Also where Sears used to be they should put a Dave & Busters there. But it’s a waste of space to just have a mall sit like this...
