So I would never normally write a bad review however I had a really bad experience recently in the salon. My normal stylist was away and I was really looking to have my hair done. I went in with already blonde hair I had just had highlights done in June at the salon. Iāve been going to Ulta for years for my brows and always had a wonderful experience. So I booked in June for a full highlight. They werenāt bad. Well I decided since fall was coming I wanted a teddy bear Bronde Iām gonna say balayage. I went in with an exact formula which stated to use the colors they use and said to lowlight with this color and what not. So Genesis tells me well thatās one not how the appointment was booked (there are only so many options when booking online so I chose what sounded closest) ok fine she comes back and tells me my service is going to cost close to $400 I asked why and she said she had to do so many different things to get to what I was asking for( confirmed non of that was true after the fact) then she said with the color service, cut (had maybe 1/2 inch if that) and a blow out( she literally dried my hair no style). I said thatās crazy she explained she could do something a little different but it should be similar š¤·š¼āāļø I say ok and Iām gonna trust the process and she repeated multiple times she has over 20 years experience. She is going through the process and as we are doing this I questioned the blowout being charged I wasnāt asking for a full blow out just dried so I could see the color no style just dry which I had done previously and was not charged extra she said well I donāt know about other people but I donāt work for free š³ ok. Over 3 hours later (Iāve never been in a chair for so long) I was finished she kept pulling my hair back and pushing forward so I didnāt realize until $195 later and I was home that I had runway strips of blonde (I was looking to go darker like dirty blonde) and I mean BLEACH Blonde. Terrible experience I will never go back for any service in the salon. Didnāt even think to contact them because I was so upset and then paid $120 at a different salon to have to fix what she did to my hair! With that being said, my only complaint was that I had made an appointment for my brows and I showed up on time. The woman working at the front showed me where to go and told me that the lady doing my wax and tint had someone else she was doing brows on and should be done soon. It looked like she took a walk in right before I got there. I waited around 20+ minutes before she took me. While I understand not wanting to turn someone down, an appointment should always come first and you should make sure not to take any clients if you have an appointment coming up shortly. I thankfully didn't have anywhere to be but I had my husband take my son next door to keep him busy and told him about half a hour, so when he came back with our son, I had finally just sat in the chair. Not as relaxing as I had hoped for but it is what it is. Again, I was very happy with how my brows looked. While the store is new, it is hard to find tissues to wipe the testers off of your skin if you try to test the color of a product so take a bunch when you find them. No one offered to help us find a color or product, and the store was not busy at all. When I asked about a perfume sample, I was told they do not make them for customers. THEN when checking out I gave the girl at the register my ULTA card which has my birthday in my profile and I told them it was my birthday month. I was told unless I could pull up the email they were not going to be able to do anything and couldn't give me my free birthday item. WHY? you see its my birthday and I am not lying. She did call a manager over who said "yup, I see it is your birthday month but sorry we need your email to scan the bar code" WHY WOULD I EVER SHOP HERE AGAIN, when SEPHORA will do all the things you wont do for me ULTA?
