Long time member of this gym (4 years), and was recently unfairly banned without my knowledge after having a disagreement with the manager Ryan. My membership was unfairly cancelled when it should have been frozen, and when I asked for proof that I authorized this cancellation, Ryan the manager claimed he had a phone call recording of our conversation detailing my cancellation, and when I asked to hear it, he became increasingly confrontational and combative, denying me the ability to hear this call. At the same time, he claimed that I signed the cancellation in person (in direct contrast to the notion that I did it over the phone), and after asking for the audio recording twice, and even just asking for a time to be scheduled for me to come in later and hear it, he began to criticize my choice of obtaining another gym membership, that being at Golds, which I believe was the real catalyst for this whole situation. After I asked a third time, he told me to get out, and when I then stated that I would just pay for the new member price (as if my membership was cancelled), he was going to allow me to do that. During the next couple minutes I changed my mind and decided I wasn’t going to pay for a membership at a gym where I’m not respected, informed Ryan I changed my mind, and left. A couple days later, I walk in to obtain a guest pass with a friend, and am informed that I’m banned from the gym, without explanation. Awful management, awful pricing, awful communication, and complete lack of respect for their members makes this the WORST gym I have...
Read moreI’ve been going to this gym since November and it’s been such a positive change to my life. I’ve grown more confident, I’ve learned so much, and I’m surrounded by supportive and knowledgeable staff who are always welcoming. I was a little nervous when first deciding to join a gym but My trainer, Elle, is the absolute best and we’ve come such a long way in our program. She’s patient, kind, so professional and I feel so comfortable and safe with her. I’ve dealt with medical issues in the past and she’s always been cognizant of that and worked with me to find the best ways I can work out. The facility itself is a great environment with a variety of equipment to use. They’ve recently expanded the space and it’s coming together nicely. The staff are fun and so friendly, take great care of the facility, and I always look forward to seeing them when I walk through the doors. Going to this gym has also helped me build confidence outside the gym and helped me build my self esteem. I’m so grateful. I’m proud to be a member of Anytime Fitness in Warwick and am excited for all the progress I’ll...
Read moreI'm a member here. It's a good gym, equipment in good shape, plenty of cardio. Problem is the clients at night, generally guys under 25, are not good fellow gym-goers.
They monopolize machines on their phones, swiping, scrolling their dopamine addictions on their phones. It's difficult, especially for in-demand equipment like the Smith machine.
It's not a gym-issue, more of a cultural issue, but management should monitor the gym at night more to enforce general good hygiene. I'd gladly pay double for a gym without people under 30.
Edit: I added a star back. It seems that the summer months when students are back home is more the issue. I haven't had too many difficulties at night recently.
One thing I'd like improved is just more interaction with the workers there. For example, just someone walking around, seeing how things are going. They are holed in the office and it's not as approachable as one would want. I feel like I'm interrupting or being a pest if there's something I need...
