We were on vacation in Prattsville, and found Windham Theatre by doing a search for mini golf. We arrived and after walking around the entire building, finally saw the sign to go into the Carvel store to get putters and balls for mini golf. The employee at Carvel stated mini golf was closed, as the course was under construction. So bummed! There were no updates on their website, and they do not appear to have social media to check. The course looked great as we walked by, and didn’t appear under construction. We then walked over the arcade area. The change machine in the arcade didn’t work. No one was behind the counter in the theatre side to ask, so we finally went in the laundromat to get change. 90% of the games are $1 per play, so change goes quickly.
Overall, it killed a bit of time. But disappointed in the lack of updates on their website, especially being in a ‘destination’ area in...

What an unexpectedly perfect afternoon at the Windham Movie Theater! This place is a hidden gem in the Catskills—a cozy, charming spot with so much more than just movies. We caught Mission: Impossible with Tom Cruise on the big screen, and before the show we enjoyed their retro arcade and fully stocked snack bar—classic theater vibes with small-town hospitality.
What really sets this place apart is everything else on-site. Yes, they have a Subway and Carvel (hello, childhood nostalgia!), but also miniature golf, a lobster feast, and even lodging options. We were blown away to learn there’s a beautiful 5-bedroom house available as an Airbnb—perfect for a family getaway—and even a converted caboose that’s been turned into a charming little apartment.
From food to fun to film, this spot has it all. Windham just became one of our...
Read moreI can only speak on behalf of the mini golf. It is such a ridiculous, poorly designed course with sand traps on every hole and purposely missing walls. There is no way any kid could play or enjoy themselves on this course. This course was designed by someone by someone who disdains children and adults alike. I happen to play a lot of mini golf whenever I travel, this is the worst I have seen in my life. I saw an older couple walk off the course mid way. We stuck it out, luckily it was cheap, but jeez.
Also it was hard to figure out where to pay and get clubs and balls. You have to get them from Carvel. There were a few arcade games and a cute theatre which would be good for kids on a rainy day. It is located on a beautiful creek. Maybe a good place for some ice cream or something. Stick to the candy claw...
