Comfort Inn Traverse City — Hotel in Traverse City

Overall we enjoyed the stay at this hotel except for the beds. While we were told new mattresses were just installed, it was just the top mattress, not the bottom which was bare, thick steel springs that had no barrier to them. So when we laid down on the beds - it was very very uncomfortable. Easy remedy - just need to get the matching box springs and that will solve the problem! Normally we love the serta beds.

The pool is open 24 hours and they have a hot tub with very theraputic jets. Towels are always well stocked. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The free shuttle service to anywhere within 5 miles was a great convenience. And the hotel is in a great location. The rooms seem to be pretty sound proof. Loved the convenience of a refrigerator and microwave. And the hot breakfasts rocked. We stayed in Toronto at a comfort inn with a horrible hot breakfast. Here, you could tell they used real eggs, the sausage was fantastic. I was only disappointed that the milk wasn't kept cold. That can be remedied by putting the carafes in a bowl of ice. Nothing is worse than room temperature milk. It was packed every morning.

And when we replotted our drive back home in a different direction than we came (which was riddled with construction), we were able to print out the maps on the computer and printer in the lobby for no charge.

We are Choice members and prebooked a room online. When we arrived and checked in, we headed up to our room only to discover that the entry door was so swollen that hubby had to put his shoulder into the door to get it open. Once opened, it became obvious why--the room was OVER THE TOP musty and tnere appears to be significant hidden water damage.||We immediately contacted the front desk asking to be moved. However, we were told they were full up and we would have to wait until the next morning after people checked out. We had literally just driven 9 hours and were not willing to throw the dice on meandering down the road hoping to find another hotel late at night.||Luckily, we were moved to a different room the next day but not until after spending a horrible night in a mold dungeon room. Hubby promptly developed a sinus issue ||The manager made some inane excuse about the fact that the bathroom exhaust fan was old and couldn't adequately knock down the humidity but that their impending remodeling would rectify this. B.S. because if that were true we would've experienced the same situation in the room they moved us to ... and we didn't. The room we had to spend a night in is not fit for habitation and should not be rented to anyone. Hubby said that he can smell the mustiness in the hallway near the room so it's obvious there was some major water damage that was never properly addressed...

I was bitten by bedbugs in the first room we received then was moved to a second room which was completely worse! As you can see I was bitten ALL OVER MY BODY!!! I’m LIVID and have never experienced something so gross. We have gotten the runaround to speak to the manager Mark by employees and then when told he was in we were put to voicemail TWICE. They were made aware of this situation multiple times and they confirmed so. Then the hot tub in the second room had gross particles coming out which completely turned us off to using it whatsoever so we resorted to the pool instead. Was told by staff they clean the pipes regularly but CLEARLY that was a damn lie. This is an experience I never thought i’d have to EVER go through. I’m a newlywed and it ruined my ENTIRE spontaneous weekend! I’ve been itching for days and the bites that have resolved have now made spots on my skin. I model and now have to have retouching to my skin from the bites ! NEVER again. I will be posting this on my social medias as well (I am a social media influencer that also gets booked to review places such as hotels, restaurants, etc.) and I don’t want to hear how sorry this place is either. They had numerous opportunities to fix this and we deserve a FULL refund for the ENTIRE STAY!!! This is...
