The location is lovely and close to downtown Traverse City as well as the Mission Peninsula. The staff are very kind people. Unfortunately that's where the good ends.
However, the walls are very thin here. I could hear other guests talking and laughing throughout the night and it kept me up. The guests aren't the hotels fault, and staff did handle the noise complaint that I filed. Thank you for that!
We considered staying another night until I was woken up by the laughter of guests several doors down. We ended up staying a second night for convenience sake, but it wasn't pleasant.
Also, I was told there would be eggs for the continental breakfast and it was all carbohydrates except for yogurt and milk on the first night. On the second night after submitting this review there were hardboiled eggs and the breakfast options were only marginally better. I'm very disappointed in their breakfast and that the staff weren't more honest about the options initially.
The beds were also uncomfortable, and while the room was clean there was dust on the tables when we entered. We did ask for a room nobody has used recently - but I wasn't expecting to see dust on tables.
Lastly I am VERY concerned about the transmittance of COVID at this hotel. Their pool is limited to no more than 40 guests and no more than 2 people in the gym. While I wasn't brave enough to visit the pool I was brave enough to visit the gym. There wasn't anything to sanitize the equipment and it disturbed me so greatly I didn't return.
Stay somewhere else. I really don't recommend this hotel, especially...
Read moreWe stayed the this location this past weekend and overall the staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. Breakfast was good and the staff kept up on making sure that the food was stocked. We had an item left behind and housekeeping located and made sure to lock it up for us. When I called about the lost item housekeeping was very helpful and friendly about getting our contact information to mail it back to us. The only thing I was upset about was when we requested the room, I asked for a late check out since we had later plans the day we were checking out and had a small toddler that needed to nap. When we checked in, I asked again if it were possible for a late check out and I was told to ask the front desk in the morning. Around 7:50 the next morning I asked the front desk staff yet again for a late check out so our child could nap before our later plans that day and she refused a late check out due to having had a hundred other guests ask for a late check out that morning. If you have someone requesting a late check out from the moment they booked the room, again when they checked in, I think it's very unprofessional to not honor that right away or keep having to have them ask and then be turned down...
Read moreI paid one third the price for a much bigger, cleaner room, same hotel brand & name, in another city. This one, Traverse City, we were given a dirty room the first night, and weren't moved to another one until the next morning. While the staff were very courteous, I am still not happy I spent three times more per night for a room much smaller, completely outdated, and with stained carpets. The second room we were in was clean, but still had stained carpets. We requested a refund for having to stay in the dirty room the first night and have been completely ignored. As fantastic and professional as the staff were, we still will not be returning to this hotel in this city, ever. I will be calling their corporate offices repeatedly, reminding them of their cleanliness pledge, until that one night is refunded. I didn't even ask for a full refund, Just the first night we spent in a dirty room with hair all over the bathroom walls and floors, with a shower/bathtub that had not been cleaned. There were even fingerprints under the doorknob of the bathroom door. I do not recommend this place for...
