I have 4 bookshelves from Furniture in the Raw that I have ordered at 2 different times over the years and love them, so when I needed another bookshelf I again went to furniture in the raw. I also ordered a headboard on 10/7 for delivery of both items. The receipt said delivery in 3-4 weeks. That time passed with no contact from the store. In December, when I still had not heard anything, I called the store. He told me my items would be ready the following week for delivery. I asked why it took so long. He said the items were complete and he would contact me the following week for delivery without answering why it took so long. The following week I did not hear from anyone and on Friday, after waiting that time, I called the store and said I had been waiting, I was promised delivery this week, I have not heard from anyone and no confidence that the furniture was actually done and asked for a refund. I was told the manager would call me on Monday. I sent an email saying the same thing. On Monday I did not receive a call from the manager but I did get a call the furniture was ready for delivery (at this point this was the week of Christmas). I emailed again I wanted a refund. This went back and forth, with Alberto telling me I cannot get a refund because this is custom… even though it is not custom, both pieces I ordered they have in the show room. He did say he would wave the delivery fee. The items were delivered 1/15. The headboard does not have any hole with which to affix it to the frame. I contacted Alberto. He says they don’t do that “because all frames are different.” So now I have a free standing headboard I guess? Then I contacted him about the shelf which has an affixed shelf that is about 6” higher than all 4 of the other shelves. It also is missing a piece of trim across the top. I also reached out to Alberto about this and he said they “changed the style” even though the shelf I requested is still present in the show room and is the style I selected. I am absolutely disgusted by this customer service. All I asked for was a refund of my $600 deposit on furniture I am certain was not completed at the time the refund was requested. Read moreWe had them build a console to run along the wall I even made a print all dimensions were on print. Price was really a lot for something so simple. Went to pick up and the whole unit was not built proper everything was off center right side shelve and cubby longer then left side. The divider for middle shelve to top of cabinet we’re at least 6-7 inches from one side to other so obvious no toe board as was on print. So unit had to be reworked well toe board was suppose to be built so your foot would slide under they added a 2in piece to other bottom of base I didn’t want it raised higher I wanted a toe board set back per print plus a lot of bad scrap wood was used splintered from the blade of the saw the sides of drawers had pieces of wood that had channel where a saw blade was use looked it was a mistake from another job that they did I took it home it sat in garage till I got the time to sand and repair the splintered areas needless to say was a job I should have refused. All in all measuring is not their specialty will not buy from again I had bought sum other items 6-7 years prior really good quality what happened? Also 2 drawers are same size and the 3rd is different lenght look close and you can tell I found out when I went to put drawers back...
Read moreI ordered a side table from them on Saturday December 1st. The table was from stock, but I was paying for them to stain the table. They promised the table would be ready in one week (at the latest). I called on Saturday December 8th and was told the table would be ready Wednesday or Thursday (December 12th or 13th). The guy was not at all apologetic. I called back on Thursday December 13th and was told by the same guy Tuesday or Wednesday of the following week (December 18th or 19th). Again not at all apologetic. When I challenged him on it he was extremely rude and had a "deal with it" attitude. He said their painter hasn't shown up. I asked him if the following Tuesday or Wednesday was a guarantee or would I be put off again. He said it wasn't a guarantee. While I want the table, if it isn't ready on the 19th, I'll tell them what they can do with the table.
In response to the owner's reply. I've added a copy of my invoice where 1 week was written. Next the table was ready on Monday December 17th. I went there and they had stained it the wrong color (mahogany instead of dark mahogany). They then had it ready on the 19th (11 days late). Never was any apology given.
