I flew across country to visit my 98yo grandmother. While finding activities that we could do together, we decided to book an appt at Gelish, for a "Girl's Day Mani-Pedi". Gelish booked us the next day for a 9am appt. Great..so I thought.
We arrived early, the girl at the front desk asked for my grandmother's name, number and appt time. She could not find our appt., and told us to have a seat.
About 5 min later, the manager came out and informed us that one of his girls called in sick and they wouldn’t be able to work us in at the moment, but would not tell us how long the wait would be. I told him we had an appt, and being that other people were there and being seen for their 9 am appt as well, why did we have to wait?
This is a 98 Yr old woman, with an appointment, that you’re asking to wait like she was one of the non-permitted walk-ins. He said he understands "but there are other salons you can go to."
I cannot shuffle my grandmother around like that, so we waited. He later came back and rather matter-of-factly said he can work her in for a pedicure, but was still not sure about a manicure.
His attitude and tone. The absolute disregard & lack of empathy for an elderly woman who is so excited to get her nails done is abysmal.
I was hurt that they would treat her in such a way. Do they not know the effort and hours it takes to motivate and assist the elderly in getting ready & actually getting out of the house? Do they not appreciate and respect their own appointment process? Even if they overbooked or made an error, just admit it, provide positive comfort while rectifying, instead of making the customer feel unappreciated.
I forced myself to outwardly stay upbeat & positive for the sake of my grandmother, so that I would not ruin her day.
I’m not from the area so decided to stay as that was the easiest thing to do at the moment. I would not recommend that anyone dignify this establishment.

Read moreI came upon this place of business quite accidentally. In fact I was at another nail salon and had waited excessively and then located this establishment on Google. Skeptical at first, since the previous place had come highly recommended. I can assure you that I was so happy I stumbled across this place! When you first walk in the establishment it is quite comforting. I'm not even sure that's the exact wording. The ambience is so unique! The seating is so comfortable all of the aesthetics to the decor in this place are so pleasing to the eye and soothing to the soul. It's just beautiful! The lighting, the fixtures, the colors, everything, it's very welcoming, relaxing and yet it has a sense of regalness and Chic to it. I always make an appointment ahead of time I think that's what they recommend. I can certainly understand why they are always quite busy! They have quite an array of customers. Their quality of work is excellent! They are very proud of what they do and they are very passionate as well! It is so amazing to go to a place and know that they care so much and they want to make sure you leave very happy and satisfied. And this place didn't just start, which is what I thought at first. I thought oh wow you know they're so eager and they have so much passion they must be a fresh brand new place of business. I highly recommend that you come in and check this place out! You will definitely be very pleased! I have had gel pedicures and gel manicures. I have had Aleena and others attend me. They do an excellent job and are very efficient...
Read moreThis is the BEST nail shop in Tucson... I'm so happy I found this place. I've been to at least 25 different shops or more, I saw Gelish when I went into that complex to bathe my dog at the DIY dog wash, but I assumed wrongly that they would be expensive. They are moderately priced and line up in price with other nail shops... the difference at Gelish, is, the atmosphere, it has a chill vibe, relaxing, very clean, and a GREAT decor, the professionalism when you walk in or call to Make an appt is very good! They also have an automatic reminder text which I love. They have a 10-day-guaranteed nail break/fix policy which most shops charge you for... they have Tier One and Tier Two techs...I ALWAYS book with Anna, she is tier two. I'm 60 and have been getting my nails done for decades and I SWEAR SHE'S THE BEST EVER! Anna is quick, about 45 mins to an hour for a fill or a little longer for a full set, she is thorough, does great designs and she's just PERFECT! I get my nails done every 3.5 or 4 weeks...I can't afford any sooner, but I scrub, clean, do yard work, and plant flowers and I'm pretty rough with my nails and they hold up the ENTIRE time! Gelish and their techs are great! I hope you go there at least once to try them out...I promise you will not be disappointed. Be sure to ask for Anna or make an appt with her, she's a...
