I had reserved a car for my second trip to Arizona a month ahead of time as I did the first trip I made to Arizona. The first time was totally professional from the time I showed up, until the time I had to drop off the vehicle! I was set up beautifully as I was upgraded to a hyped up Dodge Charger with the Hemi, high performance model which I was ecstatic about as I drive a 2011 hyped up Camaro as my everyday driver at home! This being said, I had the best of experience with this car rental. The second time around was not so good. As I stated, I reserved a vehicle a month ahead of time for my October trip to Arizona. I had called 3 times leading up to my second time renting and I was told there was no guarantees that I would have the Charger I had rented the first trip in August, even calling three times to make sure they had the Charger I wanted to rent. My reservation was at 2pm on Saturday, October 23rd. When I went to pick up my rental, the place was closed! They had closed at noon. They did not try calling me to confirm I would be picking up the rental! They told me that there was no contact number to reach me! That is totally a lie! First, my appointment to pick up the car was at 2pm on the said date and when I tried calling Hertz I could not get thru to anyone! Second, when I called Monday morning, the 25th to ask why I was told to pick up the rental at 2pm when they had closed at noon and that they had rented my vehicle to someone else and they had no vehicle to rent to me. I was furious! This happening, cost me over $200 from losing a night for my hotel I was staying at! The person I spoke with on Monday when they opened that had originally told me the rented my car and said they didn't have a car for me, that they were all booked. Miraculously, they found a car for me, not the Charger I originally thought I was renting, turned out to be a Nissan Rogue and that I had to travel another half hour away to get that rental. It turns out that this rental was for less days and not the model I wanted to rent and was more money! WHAT? š§ Needless to say, but I'll say it anyway, I will not be renting from these people every again! Thanks, but no thanks! I really hope this past hurts their business as I was out in a really bad situation that cost me hundreds of dollars more because of their screw up! If you want to rent a vehicle, DON'T GO TO THAT HERTZ RENT A CAR FOR YOUR BUSINESS! š I WANTED IT TO BE KNOWN HOW I WAS SCREWED!...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I reserved a minivan through Hertz for a one-way trip from Illinois to Arizona. We returned the minivan today to the Hertz location at 5905 E. Speedway Blvd., Tucson, AZ. The customer service was great throughout the rental process. It was convenient and simple to book online and pick up was easy. The vehicle was in good condition, and we had no problems during our long trip. Another big plus is we were able to pick the minivan up from a neighborhood location close to my parents' home and drop the vehicle off at a neighborhood location in Tucson, both of which were MUCH more convenient than having to go to the airport (which other rental companies we checked were requiring).
Upon our arrival in Tucson, we brought the minivan back earlier than the rental period stated on our rental contract. The gentleman who checked us in, Joey, could not have been more courteous and professional. He definitely went above and beyond when asked if we could be credited for the early return. I have rented vehicles many times over the years, but never with the level of customer service we received today. The next time I need to rent a vehicle, I'm going straight to Joey. It is evident that he cares about his customers, making the rental experience easy and pleasant and getting repeat business. I don't write many reviews, but others who are shopping for a rental vehicle should definitely consider Hertz. Thank you and kudos, Joey and Hertz, for...

I was in an accident and not at fault, so State Farm Insurance needed to provide me a rental for the time my car was in the shop. I am currently in Hereford, AZ which is south of Sierra Vista. Not sure why they decided Hertz in Tucson was the best option, but not my call. I was told by the employee at Hertz that they would be sending a driver down to drop off my rental vehicle. Well when the Hertz employee showed up, I was told that I would need to ride back to Tucson with him in order to receive my rental vehicle due to a lack of personnel at Hertz. This is a 3hr and 10min round trip for me. Completely unacceptable. I dropped the car off 3 days later at the collision center like I was instructed to do by Hertz, but then today the 31st of December I have been charged $235. When I called and asked, they told me I was charged because they havenāt had the time or personnel to come pick up the vehicle. Not sure how this is my problem, but I wanted my money back. They told me the best they can do is send someone down on the 3rd of January to get the vehicle and that it will take up to 5 business days after they receive the vehicle back for the charges to come off. So, 21 Days for them to pick-up the rental and another 7 days to get my money due to a weekend. This is absolutely unacceptable. I have filed a formal complaint, but I have not heard...
