I really adore this little YMCA. There are several YMCA facilities in Tucson with more amenities (that maybe I would use more frequently if I lived closer to them, lol) but this one is easily my favorite. Small but rarely crowded, friendly patrons and staff members, contains everything you need for a good workout, and you can actively witness your monthly payments going towards supporting programs for both children and adults in the community. Special thank you to Tala and Aida, who I see smiling and working hard bright and early nearly every morning I step in.
The app contains fun challenges where you can win prizes for physical activity and a workout tracker - the tracker itself isn’t always convenient to add entries to, but assists with tracking progress better than the notes app when I remember to use it. Plus, I got a travel mug from a challenge prize drawing and I love it so it’s definitely worth using the app! Read moreLove the swim lessons here. The teachers are great!! Not the life guard throwing up all over himself inches from the pool. That was nasty. The worst part was when he tried to clean it up by spraying it with a hose and it splattering into the pool. Absolutely disgusting. I expect more from the YMCA!!! You have great teachers! Support them with better not drunk hung over life guards!!

However, their program is disorganized, and the staff seems confused about who is where and what they're supposed to be doing. They offer field trips but you can't sign up for them until the week before and you have about an hour to do it before all the spaces are filled. Apparently, some days the pool is overcrowded and my daughter as well as other children have been kicked in the face. I'm very disappointed in this facility and will not be sending my daughter...
