I deleted my original post. I had a bunch of back and forth emails with the manager but we came down to two choices. Either I could get the whole amount of my gift card refunded back to my gift card or I could schedule an appointment with the owner. I was nervous about that because I had just caused a bunch of grief and acted like a brat but what was I going to do with a gift card besides use it at the salon anyway? Besides, I had faith that the owner had many years of experience and they offered me an after hours appointment so I chose to give it another try. This time was a completely different experience. Tracy did not act like she owned the place, she acted like a hair dresser tryin to help a woman out. I think at first she may have been worried that i was an a**hole that wouldn't be happy with anything, which is what I didn't want. I have never thrown a fit over anything like this before but was convinced by my friends and co- workers to not let it go... it was uncomfortable for me as well, but I knew she was going to do my hair perfectly from the moment I sat down! She took her time, talked with me consultation style, went over pictures, and told me some pros and cons.. It only took 3 hours to consult, foilyage, wash, and cut and before my hair was even dry, I knew I loved it! She helped me with tips to curl my hair, even had me take the flat iron myself and try, and helped me pick out a shampoo. All the while with the idea that I wasn't going to pay her anything for her services, because of the previous appointment, it was like a redo. She stayed 3 hours past closing and was so appreciative when I left her the remainder of the first card for a tip, after three shampoo. She really made up for the previous visits, which were only awful do to my stylist's inexperience and timidness. She was a sweet girl, but I've learned now to just stick with a more...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was not going to write a review, but after three days and noticing everything that went wrong with my hair, I decided to write this review.
I got a haircut with Heather, who I enjoyed a lot. My hair was below my waistline and I wanted to chop it all out. I wanted my hair shoulder length with long layers and discreet. I emphasized I wanted the layers to be long. I showed her a picture of what I wanted. She was very careful when cutting the length of my hair. I encouraged her to go shorter, and lengthwise she delivered what I asked. The problem was the layers. She cut the layers so short! My hair is shoulder length and I have layers going as short as above my ears! Even my partner noticed the haircut was nothing like I asked.
My other issue was with coloring. I donāt have too much hair, nor do I have too little. But she used two tubes for a shoulder length hair! I was shocked with the price and I felt cheated. One solid color all over my hair $195, two tubes of color. The front desk lady acted a little surprised with the break down of the service when I asked her and she went to ask Heather for clarification. I have colored my hair in great salons, always with my hair way longer than it is now, and never ever a stylist used to tubes to color my hair. To make matters worse, it did not completely cover my grey hair, which was what I was looking for.
Also, I had to wait 20min to be seen and I was there for three hours! Way too much time in a hair salon. I always go for places that donāt rush service but this one was like too slow for me, and Iām so mad with the way my hair looks now. I been having it up on a pony tail from the second I left the place. I do not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI CANNOT truly articulate how phenomenal my experience with Tracy and all of Salon de Nouveau was! On my way to my appointment, I stopped to help an injured motorcyclist and was running behind. Being late when it comes to a career based on providing services to others is practically a cardinal sin and I felt awful. Tracy and the receptionist were more than understanding when I called and instead of asking me to reschedule my appointment, they told me to get there when I could. Rushing in, Tracy never once appeared frustrated at my tardiness and instead offered me water and a moment to collect myself. As I settled into the chair, Tracy listed to me explain the issues I was having with my hair and what I wanted. She took time to explain what she saw and why my hair wasn't laying the way I wanted it to. After one of the most calming shampoos, Tracy began to both cut my hair and explain each step of what she was doing. This is the first time I've had a Stylist explain the 'why' behind each of the methods used and in that hour appointment, I learned more about my hair and how to style it than I ever had before! Tracy is beyond personable and within minutes, I felt like we had been friends for years. Being away from home and getting your hair done can be absolutely terrifying. No matter how many reviews you read, you are taking a risk. For anyone looking for a new Stylist or salon to call yours, Salon de...
