I want to start off by saying Keri was wonderful and so kind. She has amazing customer service skills. As far as my hair is concerned, I’m so disappointed. I cried. I requested silver blonde highlights. It is something I have had done at the Brookside location on numerous occasions and walked out feeling fabulous. In my latest experience that just wasn’t the case. Not only did my Cousin Destiny work there, but they are a locally owned business. Which I support! I had told Kerri the last time I got my hair done through them and or at all was February of last year. I showed her pictures of what I wanted. I showed her pictures of my hair before and after my last years appointment. She contacted the other store To see what formula they had used on me. I’m feeling pretty confident. I have been highlighting my hair blonde for 20 years. I had bad experiences. I explained I was terrified of it coming out orange or brassy. After she blowdried my hair and actually prior to that she offered for me to come back the next day if it wasn’t to my liking. It looked orange and brassy in the front. When I called there was an employee by the name of Cindy, who was quite rude when It came to her tone with me, almost making me Feel like I Was inconveniencing them in some way. I am a mother of four. It is very rare that I have four hours out of my to do my hair let alone ever really. The last thing I wanted to do was come back for another four hours. However, I was leaving for vacation and wanted my hair done before my friends wedding, I was limited on time. I go back and It almost looks worse at this point. I felt bad but I could not say I was happy. I wasn’t. She then started to say well I did tell you I would get you as blonde as I could, but it was not at all close to what I had from the time before. There was no reason for my hair to be brassy or orange. They end up having me go to the Brookside location so this is day three, 8 hours in the chair to try to have it corrected. I can now say I have copper toned hair. I spent $300 almost in total to feel worse than I did walking in. I want to say this I appreciate them trying to fix it but even the Stylist on the third day agreed with me that none of that should have took place. Also informed me that they gave Keri the wrong formula it was a miscommunication. There was nothing else she could do to my hair before I was to leave. She informed me I would have to wait another month…so I didn’t damage my hair which I understand, but that I would have to pay for that service. I tried to call her boss three different times and never heard anything back. I don’t feel I should have to pay for anything until my hair is done the way that I wanted and that I received from them a year ago. You either are great at doing blonde hair or you just aren’t. These are high end salon prices. I definitely feel like I should have gotten that kind of experience. Again, normally in the past, I did. Now I have to be in a wedding with Orange hair. Which was my biggest fear. The right thing to do would have been offering to Have me come back in until I was satisfied with what I paid for. In my opinion. My mom is a aesthetician and Works at a salon in California. She took one look at my hair and said that she couldn’t believe anyone would consider this Silver blonde or even blonde at all. All around just not a...
Read moreThis is not the place to go for color. One of the stylists took 7hrs to do my hair, I explained in great detail what I wanted (brown base color with a balayage style highlight not all way up to the root). She proceeded to bleach my entire head (the brown I chose was darker than my light Auburn color and I really dont think this step was necessary) and then let it process for way too long. Following that, the added highlights alternating foils like a brick lay pattern throughout my entire head (adding more bleach to just bleached hair) with foils of brown in between. This is not balayage style and was done very poorly and I was there open to close on a Sunday. This also severely damaged my hair and the results were awful. I had tiger stripes of bleach at my roots. I was so embarrassed to go to work the next day looking like this. I told the stylist my concern and she said, "well, come back tomorrow and we can fix it." So I bought root cover-up spray on my way home and used it for work the next day. I also called and spoke to the manager Zoey on shift the following day and made an appointment with her to fix my color and explained to her what happened. She was very professional and explained each step of the color correction process in detail. My hair looked really nice, not like the picture of what I wanted, but it looked very nice when I left. However, it was still severely damaged. By the end of the week, I had washed my hair only twice using professional grade products and my hair was so damaged and porous that nearly all the brown dye washed out and I was left with orange, brassy hair. So I called and spoke to Zoey again and even asked for a refund of my 200+ dollars since I paid a large sum of money for my hair to be damaged and it to look worse than how I came in to the salon. She explained they do not do refunds but offered a complimentary protein treatment and demi permanent color (which does not fully penetrate the hair shaft but is not permanent). At this point, I was so frustrated with the condition and look of my hair I was so hesitant to have them put anything else on it. I told her that in all honesty I'd rather do the demi permanent and protein treatment on myself at home. This way, if I mess up, it's my own fault and I wouldn't be upset at someone who is supposed to be the professional. I have lots of experience doing my hair myself and 9/10 like my own results better than when I get it done. I just figured when it came to highlights, I would seek professional help so they would turn out properly while preserving the integrity of my hair. She understood where I was coming from and said she was sorry I wasnt happy with my hair. I went in for a complimentary trim instead after doing my own color and protein treatment (thanks Sallys) to get rid of some of the breakage but that is the last time I will ever go to this establishment. I think they can do very nice hair cuts but I would not go here if you want anything done with color (the exception being Zoey- she did balayage highlights on me a year ago that were beautiful and my hair did not feel damaged at all in...
Read moreWent in asking for black hair. All I wanted. Nothing else. I have been blonde my entire life and wanted a drastic change. I had explained that and that brown wouldn't have been enough for me. The stylist said I would look "washed out" and to choose something else. I honestly did not feel welcomed there because of the way the lady acted. It was 75 to get my hair TINTED and 15 for a TRIM that she coerced me into. We were discussing other options and she recommended gray with a tint of blue or purple. I agreed and on went the process. Pretty much 3 hours of turning my hair a slightly darker shade of brown that completely washed out the next day after being promised a few months worth of color. She even turned my hair GREEN after bragging to her co-workers about how my hair was looking "iridescent". Yeah... No. She "fixed" it and I basically walked out with a 90 dollar shampoo and blow dry. I didn't tip and she seemed so offended. At least my hair looked nice, but it was definitely not what I wanted. Listen to your...
