My wife and I run the Canyon Springs grade about 3 times a week. We love the view and the wildlife. Most people are respectful and polite. However, there is a pernicious, persistent amount of litter being scattered along the entire road by a mindless few, and it never gets addressed. There are a few trash barrels available, but they are ignored by a percentage of mindless cretins who just chuck it out the window. Let's put a stop to it. Make the fine for littering $1500 for a first offense, and double it for every repeated offense. Write a few well-deserved tickets, enforce the fines, and the problem will evaporate, or you can pay me and my wife for our feeble attempts to keep policing up the garbage in a hopeless attempt to stem the flow.
