After going to Canyon Crest four or five times, we said we would never go back. The food, the service, the entire experience was awful.
With a new chef and hearing they had new staff we decided to give them another try. This past Friday Night we went to dinner and we were pleasantly surprised when we were instantly sat (outside on the patio which features an amazing view) and within 1 minute the staff brought water with lemon while we were waiting on our waitress.
Canyon Crest has a completely new menu. My significant other ordered the chicken with mushroom cream sauce, rice pilaf and wedge salads. I got tri tip steak with whipped garlic potatoes and a wedge salad. We strive to fine great restaurants. We don't mind paying food good food and good service. Needless to say our dinner, our service, our experience was completely different than our prior experiences. We are so glad we gave them one final chance because our dinner experience blew us away. Definitely one of the best restaurants if not the best restaurant in the Magic Valley.
We topped off dinner with a slice of cheesecake which was just amazing. Prices were reasonable, portions were great and the food quality was 5 star.
The food was so good that we went back for brunch this morning. Their brunch was amazing. We had omelettes which were very well cooked along with amazing breakfast potatoes which had a phenomenal seasoning on them.
After both meals at Canyon Crest this weekend we are convinced they are doing something right. We heard other people talking at the restaurant as to how much better Canyon Crest was and how great their food was. Their new chef, new menu and new staff have definitely made this one of the best restaurant venues in Twin Falls and in the Magic Valley and we would highly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe 14th. stop on our Sunday breakfast review, Todayās breakfast was At Canyon Crest. There were 5 of us, and we got to sit at the table that goes around in a circle. But then I started to get motion sickness, so we had them stop it. Wouldnāt want to drink too much at that table! We all had the biscuits and gravy, and I also had a āmake your ownā omelet from the omelet station, which was very good. The biscuits were a little heavy, but the sausage gravy, with Falls Brand sausage, was very good and had a lot of flavor, although a bit too much salt. For $7.00 we got an open faced biscuit with sausage gravy and home fried potatoes, and we all agreed these were the best potatoes so far, lots of flavor and tasted like they were fried in butter. No eggs came with this. None of us had coffee, so canāt give an opinion on that. We had the two dollar Mimosaās, canāt beat that. Our server, Dawna, was very friendly and greeted us at the door. Our food was served promptly, and the manager came over to see how everything was, and listened to our suggestions. And I wasn't charged for my omelet because the manager wanted me to try it to see if I liked it. We have given Canyon Crest a 9.5 rating, the highest in the city of Twin Falls, so far. You canāt beat the view, and the atmosphere of the place, with nice music, and not over crowded. With good friends, and a few cocktails, you could easily spend a few hours there. We are only reviewing the biscuits and gravy, atmosphere, cost, and the service. We rate these places on a score of 1 to 10. One being food poisoning, and ten being so excellent that we want a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy girfriend and I ate at Canyon Crest this evening. The restaurant has a very nice appearance inside and out. All of the food we ate tasted good (Trout with rice pilaf and filet mignon with mashed potatoes. We both had brussel sprouts)The view of Snake River Canyon was good and would have been considered excellent except the view from the walkway and outlook directly below is even better and an easy short walk from the restaurant on a walking/lookout path a little below the restaurant. The service from Philip was excellent and thanks to our server, we were able to sit on the lower patio. We had made reservations online a few hours earlier to be sat on a patio overlooking the canyon but our reservation was not transfered to the written reservation list unfortunately, according to the hostess, and so there wasn't a space available for us. We were both thankful that Philip stepped in, checked the online list and confirmed our reservation for two. Athough the main patio was full, he honored our reservation and was able to set a table and seat us on the patio a floor below that was not being used currently. Although I'm sure it was away from his serivce area above, the service he provided was excellent and for that we are appreciative since having dinner on the patio with views of the canyon was our only reason for eating there. It also made us feel a little special since we were the only people on the lower patio and all of the people eating on the terraced patio above saw us having a private intimate dinner from...
