Beautiful area! The perfect spot to launch Kayacks and paddleboards! Just make sure you follow the regulations and have a whistle, life vest, an invasive species permit, and that you stop at the boat check-in station, even for paddleboards. The water here is infested with an invasive mussel, so they have to spray off everything before and after. Was told by a ranger that bypassing the station is a class A misdemeanor. They have a sherif patrolling the parking lot who will confront you if you do that.

Other than that hassle, absolutely beautiful spot. Docks perfect for launching, rentals available from AWOL, gorgeous cliff sides that some were jumping off. You can paddle right under Perrine Bridge here and sometimes see base jumpers coming off. Bridge is a bit of a ways and hard to get to if there's a wind but it's beautiful and super close to the park, can be seen from afar even if you don't paddle all the way to it. If you go pass it, there's also small waterfalls on the sides of the canyon, and some falls at the very end about a mile upriver. I'd be careful, though if you go all the way to those falls, it looked like white water...

We had an awesome time here! Went kayaking up thr Snake to the lower falls and then carried our kayaks across the rocks and paddled up to see the upper Shoshone falls from the water. It was a great experience and a gorgeous trip. The water is so calm we had a hard time remembering if we were going upstream or downstream. Centennial has kayaks and paddle boards you can rent and a spacious parking lot. We brought our own kayaks, but it's nice that that's an option. The bathrooms were exactly what we needed. And best of all, there's no entrance/parking fee! The only downside so saw were: 1, It could be a pretty busy tourist trap if you don't go early in the day or early in the season (we went early in the season, and it still got busy around the afternoon). 2, The entrance ramp is really small, so you can only put in or take out one boat at a time, and the loop to get into it is kind of small and confusing. That's not as big of a deal with kayaks, but we still had people block our way to load up the kayaks. I definitely would still recommend this to anyone and look forward to...

BEWARE!! A towing company frequents the parking lots and will tow cars who are incorrectly parked. The towing company employees are fearless and rude.

Today we witnessed the tow truck employee begin to tow a vehicle that was not supposed to be in the trailer parking area because it wasn’t towing anything.

The guy the vehicle belong to only got his car back when he provided proof that he was a police officer from Texas.

Guaranteed no one else gets that treatment because up until the officer showed his badge the situation was getting heated. So, don’t take the warning parking signs for granted, make sure to park where you’re supposed to.

Side note: The restrooms are very dirty with no hand sanitizer, soap or...
