Had the worst experience ever @ the Costco Union NJ location - I've been a loyal customer for over 24 years have purchased all our automobile tires @ Costco during this time. In July I noticed one of the tires was flat, I refilled it and within 24 hours flat again - so I made an appointment and brought it to Costco Tire center within a week. I was informed that the rim was defective on my Honda Odessey - Being a senior citizen and having owned numerous cars over the years this was the 1st time I had a defective rim. I was surprised, they cleaned the rim, refilled the tire and the next day the same tire was flat. I purchased a new rim which are quite expensive (Honda $600) and brought it to a third party to install - Next morning flat tire - so back to Costco and then what happened shocked me - they tried to flim flam me by spraying water on all the older 3 rims and stated they were all leaking. Not only that, prior to arriving I spoke with both the tire center manager + store manager to coordinate addressing this issue - they opened a 1pm appointment - when I arrived I was told by the rep at the counter I would have to wait hours in queue - I asked to speak with the manager who I had made the arrangement with - He brought out another man who said he was the manager when in fact, he was another tire installer trying to pull the wool over my eyes (he was the one who sprayed the water on the rims and tried to convince me that the other rims were defective. I informed him that for the last 2 months I have only put air in 1 tire every morning so don't try to BS me. I was growing more agitated; they didn't realize they were dealing with a person who has tinkered with cars since I could drive - this was total nonsense. As I raised my voice since I smelled a scam out from the shadows the real manager appears and informs both tire mechanics (including the one posing as the manager) to keep quiet, stop talking and walk away. Another tire tech then took the wheel off and did the water test - they found the leak - this was something they should have done initially but obviously DID NOT. They replaced the tire and no leaks - Now I feel Costco should be responsible for the cost and time involved trying to fix an issue that didn't exist. Read moreI have to admit I was mortified...I purchased the tires at this location and THEN read the reviews. I was disappointed to see so many people did not have a good experience and quickly became apprehensive towards the installation of my tires.
I had a 10am appointment and was checked in my 10:20. They called me to pick up my car at 11:30. I am writing this review to personally acknowledge Alejandra & Robert.
Alejandra checked me in and shared my concern regarding my inability to spend many hours waiting for my tire install. I was working remote and took my lunch hour to address this task and she understood the assignment. We agreed that if the car was not finished by 11:30 she would call me and we would reschedule. When that phone rung at 11:30? To confirm the car was finished??...nothing but relief.
Robert was the individual that walked me through buying tires at Costco many months prior to my purchase. I asked him to recommend as if he was shopping for tires for his wife - and that's exactly what he did. We agreed that when a sale came around I would give Costco a try...
Robert was there on tire install day. He remember me and our conversation. He looked up my car to ensure I purchased tires that would complement the specifics of my model and personally ensured the tires were installed correctly.
I am taking the time to write this review so that future folks have an opportunity to make a decision based on the experience of all of Costco tire center customers. Please purchase with confidence. Ask for Robert & Alejandra - you will not be...

I made an appointment for 4:45 PM to repair a tire and get a rotation. I even arrived early at 4:15 PM. I did not leave until 8:30 PM — over four hours for a simple tire repair.
At 8:10 PM, they handed me my car and acted like the work was complete. Thank God I was standing there, because they never even did the rotation that was on the original service order. When I asked about it, the technician suddenly acted surprised like he had no idea there was a rotation requested. Then he just walked away to go do something else instead of fixing the issue
I spoke with the manager, and the response was basically, “Well, we’re backed up.” That doesn’t explain why no one communicated delays, no one checked the work, and no one cared that an appointment turned into a 4+ hour wait for one tire.
This location clearly has zero accountability, zero communication, and zero respect for customers’ time. If this is how they handle a basic service request, I can’t imagine how they’d handle anything more complex.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this tire center. The team here simply...
