CAVA — Restaurant in Union

I tried this place after seeing so much of it. Even pulled up the menu before going in so I had an idea of what I wanted. However while ordering I received attitude from the 2nd young lady in the assembly line. As my bowl was handed off from one person to her, she asked me a question, which I couldn't make out, but I assumed that she was confirming the meal was mine to which I replied yes. She actually said "do you want everything that comes on it?" I should have not assumed but again, it was my 1st time and in an assembly line method, I'm not expecting for there to be pre-made anything being it's the same model as Chipotle and they don't.

She then began putting a food I did not want. It was an honest communicative mistake, no problem.

However, when I saw her reaching for the food, I interrupted her with "I don't wan--" but she continued to put it on anyway although my interruption should have signaled for her to pause. When I told her I didn't want it, she told me she just asked if I wanted everything. I told her what I thought she said. She dryly said "no." and blankly stood there. She seemed like she wanted me to just continue with the rest of the order. I had to re-iterate I did not want it for her to remove it.

I didn't even want my bowl remade! She did remove it but made the interaction unnecessarily tense. It marred my experience as a first-time customer.

I will add: There was a woman who ordered in front of me who did things like say "I want 'that' and 'that' and 'more of that'" while pointing & not saying please or thank you which I think is where her demeanor stemmed from, but it should not have been taken out on me who was patient and polite.

Side-note: The dark-skinned young lady at the register however was very nice and welcoming with a smile! She salvaged the visit.

Also, y'all juice nasty. Route 22 is a nightmare to trek so to travel and have this interaction is...

I have really enjoyed CAVA when having it in the past and was excited to finally have a location close by. Unfortunately, this location is terrible.

Do NOT place a to go order unless you want to wait 30-45+ mins beyond the estimated time. We have ordered to go twice now and have had to wait forever. Today was even worse. The employee preparing the orders would leave up to 8 bowls sitting on the line for 15 minutes at a time and leave to do other tasks (photo attached) Because of this, by time we got our food, it was cold. She wouldn't say the name of the orders when they were done, or leave the sticker with the name on it where anyone waiting could see it. It was up to the 15 people waiting to check the bag to see which order it was.

They prioritized the delivery drivers who ran up to them and gave names of their orders even though others had been waiting for a long time. When I asked about an update for my order, they said nothing and then tried to hand me someone else's order. Today I could have actually gone through the line at least 4 times before our to go order was done.

The one time we did order through the normal line they were out of multiple items and were told that they would not be making more of them.

Love CAVA, but do not go to this location. It is clearly mismanaged and the employees could not care in the slightest about...

First of all! This was my first time ever trying cava. I had no clue what to expect. I've only ever heard it's the Mediterranean chipotle and I've been wanting to try it for a while. So I went inside and ordered a bowl. Mixed greens base with half brown rice and half black lentils. Half braided lamb and half chicken, tomato's and cucumber, corn, fried broccoli, and tzitziki sauce.

Let me also note, I was looking at the food before I ordered and the gentleman behind the counter asked what I'd like and I told him it was my first time. So he so kindly asked me if k had questions. So I asked how the black lentils told tastes? And he actually asked me if I wanted to try them, then gave me a small sauce cup of lentils to taste. Way to sell me on the lentils! The braised lamb tasted soo tender and perfect! I also tasted a little like curry but i can't really pinpoint the seasonings used.

The cashier and all the staff was all pleasant and kind! This was such a happy cozy space. I appreciate that!

My drink I mixed the half cucumber, lime and mint along with the apple, pineapple and mint. I LOVE FRESH pressed juices! I drink them everyday. These two combined were delicious.

I thoroughly enjoyed this food and will be back to try more...
