YEAR 1:
I think most reviews of these apartments are overly critical.
I’ve had a great experience living here, and honestly have no complaints. Pricing is fair for the area, neighbors are quiet and friendly, living right next to the bike trail is great, and I enjoy watching the squirrels in the morning too so that’s a plus.
YEAR 2:
I’ve been here a little over a year now and my opinion has changed slightly. First, rent has gone up in price since I’ve been here. Supposedly that’ll keep happening each year.
Bummer.
There’s also a lot of activity that goes on around here at night. I’ve heard two shootings take place, (both within a week of each other), and witnessed one guy bleeding out in the liquor store behind the apartment complex after being shot. Cops stopped me while on night walk to ask if I’ve seen a man with a gun that they were searching for. A homeless guy was also beaten to death with a piece of rebar by another homeless guy at the park down the street. Basically, it’s not really safe around here at night. I still go on walks because I don’t really care. But be careful, especially if you’re alone.
Finally, they cut the trees here, and ruined the homes for all the squirrels. A lot of the squirrels have left, and I have nothing to look at when I glance out my windows in the morning. I miss those little dudes. I wonder where they’ve gone.
Overall, I still like it here, and I think it’s nice. But I can do with less gunshots and more squirrels.
YEAR 3:
Rent went up $120/month. That’s a pretty steep increase, if you ask me. But I asked management about it and supposedly it’s not up to them.
The maintenance guys here do a great job keeping up with repairs. Shoutout to the grounds guys for always keeping the place clean too.
Haven’t noticed any more gunshots recently. Maybe things...
Read moreAbysmal customer service. Spent over a week contacting their office, primarily with Chanel (sp?). Was never contacted asides from automatic email and the last day we spoke. We constantly inquired what documentation was needed and then did our best to provide said documentation.
We needed to show that we had roughly $48,000 USD under one name. We ended up 65$ short, on this basis we were rejected (this is not the idiotic part). I do understand that rules and regulations are important and I do not believe it was wrong that our application was rejected as it was us who failed to meet said requirement, petty but not wrong.
The idiotic part is that the previous day when I called them (as if they would ever contact you). I was told that we were roughly $1,400 short. I then emailed over an additional bank statement that had well over $5,000 USD. All should be well correct? Nope was told the next day, after multiple phone calls and messages left (again when I contacted them) that we were 65$ short out of ~$48,000.
Providing an additional $65.00 is something we could do, but we are tired of dealing with these people. We have jumped through multiple hoops, passed on multiple other properties and continuously impressed upon the office of mountain springs the need for urgency (my sister is moving to Uplands in a week, they don't seem to understand anything except that they need to ask their manager). We have decided that the cost of being in the vicinity of these people outweighs any potential benefit of living there.
Best of luck to all of you. Entirely unprofessional and apathetic staff.
p.s. there is more to this story but it is...
Read moreNot the best apartment complex. There’s never guest parking unless it’s the middle of the weekday where people are at work. There’s only 3 laundry rooms and people will leave clothes in the washer and dryer overnight or longer. The machines are always breaking and have mold in them. You have to load your laundry card in the office but they’re only open during certain times and days so you have to make sure you load it when they’re open. They don’t have a gate code to get in, you HAVE to use your gate key card and if you don’t have one or post it, then you have to wait for a car to either come out or someone come with a key to open the gate. Bums are constantly using the complex as a short cut from the liquor store to the park and they go through the dumpsters or sleep there. My motorcycle got stolen when security was out (horrible security. Just walks around eating). Neighbors are loud, especially if you live downstairs, you will constantly hear the people upstairs. Most people here are inconsiderate of others. People who have big dogs here claim them to be “service animals” but obviously lack the training and skill that come with it. People will let their dogs off leash and allow them to approach you and your dog or even your dog in your patio. No privacy. But honestly, it’s just what comes with living in an apartment. The apartments are off two main streets and near a hospital so you constantly hear sirens and cars. The trees and Mountain Views are nice as well as seeing the planes from Ontario airport. They do have residents application day every now and then and provide free food...
