Kroger — Attraction in Upper Arlington

EXTREMELY LOUD ANCIENT FAN NOISE FROM BACK OF THE STORE & CANCER CAUSING, LUNG & SINUS DAMAGING DUST !

It has been very frustrating that almost every time I shop there is no Luvsome Silica Crystal litter. That said, when I have managed to get some the last two times there were issues. Luvsome is a Kroger brand.

Overall I like the store itself... but the issues with the litter, and the horrible noise coming from behind the store and invading my HOME and my Patio is getting me very very frustrated. I reported BOTH the noise issue AND the litter issue but neither seem to be getting resolved. For a company that seems to want a good reputation in the community, they don’t seem to care enough about the QUALITY of their product OR the noise coming from the ancient industrial fan in the back (roof?) Of the store. We reported the noise to the city but apparently not to the right person. I will very likely have to contact city council about why the city ORDINANCE regarding noise is not being enforced.

The guy we spoke with who apparentlyis supposed to Deal with the noise ordinance issues made it seem like he was powerless to actually enforce it. He “talked to” Kroger, but then made it sound like it’s up to them - and then voiced his doubts that anything would be done because “they are thinking of closing this one in favor of a location on (Morse? Road). I spoke to someone else recently who told me that rumor has gone on for years and they still haven’t moved. Here is an idea for you Kroger, if you REALLY care about your community. FIX THE PROBLEMS and QUIT MAKING EXCUSES! (caps for emphasis, not yelling) I want to love your store but the issues are getting in the way!

So the horrendous noise AND ... CANCER CAUSING DUST!

Well.... I managed to find some of the silica Crystal litter,Luvsome (Kroger’s brand) but now the litter I loved is also starting to have issues. II did manage to post this on the page for Luvsome - I really hope Kroger cares enough to do something about the issues being raised.

The last two times I managed to find litter at this particular store (which sadly it’s rare that I can get it because it’s never there when I shop the vast majority of the time ) the last 2 times the litter had quality issues. The first time , I reported it and the person who responded said they would get in touch with quality control. The bag had mostly the large crystals, but also had a lot of fine blue particles.... I wasn’t sure if it was silica dust or dye. I trusted the rep would get in touch with QC and that something would be done to ensure that the bags don’t contain the fine particles (which produced clouds of dust every time I stirred the litter)

I managed to get another couple bags of the litter a few weeks ago. I didn’t need them immediately, but considering that they rarely have it when I need it, I bought them on the spot.

Now it’s not just dust in the bottom of the litter, but the ENTIRE BAG is tiny tiny crystals a huge clouds of dust! There are a FEW large crystals instead of the whole bag being large crystals! I am SO frustrated! Luvsome silica crystals litter has been the only one I could find that had the right size of crystals and hardly any dust, as well as a decent price. Now the price has gone up $2 while the QUALITY (size of the crystals /dust) is going DOWN!

Since moving to the area I thought I'd finally found the kroger I like best after going to 2 others. My experiences haven't been too bad, however today I was made to feel as though I was a bother. The cashier was calling Paige, who was busy socializing with a customer. After the cashier called her twice, I politely said excuse me Paige she's calling you then I let her know I only called her due to not hearing the cashier . Even though I used manners which I know many people don't and won't I expected for her to at least not have a funky look on her face I guess it was a bother since she was engaged in a conversation that had absolutely nothing to do with work. I will come back to this store sure to other employees I just hope she NEVER needed again! Update: went in again for the first time in a year and another ignorant worker. The self kiosk was being foolish when I went to see if I could correct it a ride as worker just comes over no excuse me or anything just steps in front of me just ignorant! Update: went again to meat and seafood department asked for catfish the employee tried to give me cod when I told him that’s not what I asked for his reply was it’s all the same. Then he said there was none back there which was a lie because I called from the parking lot and they checked and told me there was a case. Again he tried to debate so I saw a lead and told him my issue. He went right back there grabbed and grabbed the case. I tried to tell him thank you but he quickly walked off. UPDATE: Self checkout is still a real challenge at the Henderson Rd Kroger. Wish they had check out lanes like the ones they have at the store on Sycamore in German Village. See the photo below…. This is painful for me to write the review. Been shopping at this Kroger since it was built - over 40 years ago. The staff at this store really friendly and helpful, and I feel badly for them. Corporate has decided to increase profits by forcing customers to use self-check out. The problem is, the self check out lanes are super small - they area is too small for medium to large grocery shoppings - they are better suited for 10-12 item quick trips. There is no way to even do a large shopping in self check-out unless you put items on the floor - it overflows. It’s a mess - I’ve tried and it is a total pain. They close all the cashier check out lanes to just one open lane - so shoppers have to wait in line 4-7 customers deep even when the store isn’t busy. Their other staff who would do cashiering are picking orders for pick-up and delivery customers. Kroger’s competition (GE) has regular sized self-check out isles that can accommodate larger orders. If this location doesn’t fix this, by adding more cashiers or larger self-check out lanes, they are going to start losing...
