I mean this from the most understanding local point of view. We live in the neighborhood. Love the shrimp. Have never had a stellar experience here even just ordering drinks, not food. Absolutely understand what small kitchens on the beach are like. Last time we were here was slow middle of the day and the bartender serving our table forgot our beers, fine. Tonight, Sunday, we showed up at 8pm. Was full when we got there and then quickly died out(we like to avoid the dinner rush) Ordered drinks and shrimp. Around 8:20 we ordered a smash burger and a Philly. Around 9:45 i politely asked for an ETA on our food when the two top next to us got their food and the four top behind us got their food (both ordered after us) we decided to inquire on how much longer and cancel our food as we would have been the very last people eating in the restaurant at closing time. Staff was skeptical to cancel our food but confirmed an hour and thirty seven minute time on our ticket being put in and just started to make in the kitchen. They did try to reprimand the situation but seeing as the restaurant was not busy and tables after us got served, was very discouraging and we just decided to make pizza at home. Love yall but this experience was rough.
I notice that most of your responses attack the customer and justify a subpar experience, which i was expecting. My review was merely feedback for the night. And not to go back and forth, i asked for the pup cup, we were never warned on ticket times, when we inquired she said ten more minutes and a few minutes after that your MOD told us they were about to drop the food. Again, this was just feedback for you and an...
Read moreLocal here. We eat here whenever we have friends or family in town for the views and vibes. The food is good and the service is just okay. But for any tourists looking for somewhere to eat on the east end, read the negative reviews of this establishment. The owner is attacking dissatisfied paying customers with valid criticism and for giving feedback. Yes, some of the reviews are Karen’s, but some of the negative reviews are totally valid and understandable. I understand it is busy on weekends. I understand that they have a small kitchen. I was a server, I get it. But waiting 1.5 hours without our server checking on us once is unacceptable. We didn’t eat, just paid for our drinks and left. We were very kind and understanding to our sever, as she was obviously in the weeds, however I wish she would’ve at least communicated with us about the extreme ticket times, and got us refills every now and then. Not once after we ordered did she check on us. Even when I am in the weeds as a sever, I do everything I can to let my tables know about why their orders are taking a while and giving them the option to leave, while keeping their drinks full. But that is not my gripe here.
After sifting thru the negative reviews, the owner is very hostile and insulting toward paying customers with valid criticism. I am almost positive he will reply with hostility to this review, even though we were respectful and understanding of the situation. I just wanted to make locals and tourists alike aware of how the owner of this establishment responds to...
Read moreFirst time eating at off the hook. I’ve been vacationing at PCB for years. I’ve been to many other restaurants in the area. When we were seated our server did not let us know how long the wait for our food would be. She took our drink order and we ordered an appetizer within 20 min which was ok considering it was a holiday weekend. She took our food order. 30 minutes later we heard another server telling the people who were being seated at tables around us that it would be ABOUT AN HOUR until their food would come out. No biggie, we thought, we were already 30 mins in. An hour passed and no food. We asked our server “about how long?” She kept saying “it’s almost ready”. Got to an hour and 45 mins and no food. We were considering paying for our drinks and appetizer and leaving by this time bc she kept saying “it’s almost ready”. Eventually our server got upset with us bc we asked so many times “how much longer” and said “I’m going to bring my manager so you can talk to her”, even though I didn’t ask to talk to her. Manager came out and said the same thing and apologized for our wait and explained that it’s normal for them to be this busy on a holiday weekend. Totally understandable. But it would have made THE WORLD of difference if the server would have communicated that since the beginning. Food was ok. Nothing to brag about. View was ok, also nothing to brag about. May be a good place to go to have a few drinks and listen to music but not really a place to take your...
