Planet Fitness — Attraction in Vero Beach

Overall a great place. Friendly staff. Large selection of machines and weights. Great location. I only have two problems with the place...

The first is bench availability. In about half of my visits, the benches by the dumbbells are in high demand and are virtually always in use, which forces me to wait and/or juggle my routine a bit. A minor inconvenience, but the REALLY annoying part is the people supersetting and leaving their bench for 5-10 minutes at a time, without moving their belongings or putting the weights back on the rack, so it looks like it's still being actively used. Someone else could fit in a full 3 sets in that time. Unbelievable how this isn't being addressed by staff.

The other is the COVID policy. Don't get me wrong, the staff does a great job. But, any time I was there, I saw more people WITHOUT a mask than with one. Not by a big margin, maybe 60/40 but still staggering. I realize the policy requires you only wear a mask when walking between areas, but I would have felt much more comfortable if everyone was required to wear a mask at all times. I had people come up to me asking if they could jump in while I was resting (without a mask and in a very projective voice). Also people on the bench next to me, without a mask, exhaling rather loudly and expelling who knows what into the air. I was forced to cancel my membership last year because I just didn't feel comfortable with the current policy as the numbers continued to rise. If these issues were addressed I would re-up in...

These people are unbelieveable. Liars. Hidden charges. Charged annual fee twice in 3 months . And they threatened another charge since I requested cancellation. Currently, at my bank dealing with this and my bank says they deal with this all the time with planet fitness. DISHONEST BUSINESS. NO INTEGRITY. STAY AWAY OR GET TAKEN! They have struck again. And the saga continues…different charges and even different versions of their name! My bank says they do this all the time! Unbelieveable 😡 BAD PEOPLE ARE JUST NOT GOING TO WIN! not on my watch! Just had another “encounter” with the local vero beach manager. Not pleasant. NOW I HAVE TD BANK ON MY SIDE!! Now they rock- their employees are just regular people and they get what it feels like to be victimized by big business. The local planet fitness Vero Beach manager told me I gave them my actual bank account and that’s how they were able to charge me AGAIN. I would NEVER give anyone my bank count number-EVER! I may be naive but not that naive! He was arrogant, rude and threatening! I’m telling you, people beware!!! This location is my favorite planet fitness by a long shot. I don't live near this location, but my mom lives in Vero Beach, so I come to this one any time I visit her. Best location for cleanliness, friendliness, and amenities. I'm a black card member purely for the black card spa, so I can't attest to the gym equipment, but from the looks of it, everything always seems to be in working order and clean. The staff has always been so nice and welcoming, always greeting me with a smile. There's one woman whose name I cannot recall, but she's the sweetest and funniest person, and is very knowledgeable. Any question I've ever had, she's had an answer for. The spa side is absolutely amazing, from the tanning beds to the hydromassage loungers and massage chairs. Any tanning bed I've used has been maintained and upgraded, which is a huge plus, especially given that the location nearest to me has very outdated beds. The hydromassage loungers are awesome and always maintained, and the massage chairs here have to be the best ones I've used thus far. I've never seen one bed/booth, lounger, or chair be out of order or broken, which is incredible. Whoever manages this location should be training every other location, and Planet Fitness' everywhere should meet this locations...
