Paws & Purrs Grooming — Attraction in Virginia Beach

I could barely wait to get home to post this review. This place just worked a miracle for me! After years of dealing with extreme anxiety around nail trimmings with our mini Aussie, the groomer here just trimmed all 10 nails in less than 5 minutes, without even having to muzzle her. This has been an ongoing issue for us, seeking help from our vet, trying to condition her at home, and being turned away by a handful of other groomers after she would show any reaction to her paws being handled. Here, they told me to bring her on down when I called this morning and they got right to work. I swear they had the back paws done before she even noticed. She got a little skittish with her front paws but they calmed her through it and worked quickly and efficiently. I am still beside myself! This isn't just about hygiene to us: I worried it had negatively impacted our relationship with our dog because she stopped trusting us. Trying to "get her used to" having her paws handled always resulted in her running and hiding, even after just a quick graze, and caused her to regress with allowing us to perform other grooming activities (like brushing). I was highly disappointed with the services I received for my dog on Friday. The customer service was less than subpar. I stood at the window for about 5 minutes before anyone even acknowledged that I was there. The area where they groom the dogs is so small that when they finally did open the service window there was a dog being groomed and dog hair was being blown all over us from the window so much that I had to step to the side and almost yell for the girl to hear me. She was short and unfriendly and the customer service was not good at all. I asked for my dog to be bathed…trimmed…and for his nails to be cut down. When I came back to pick him up he smelled horrible. He smelled like dog urine and pet freshener. It was so disgusting that I had to ride with my car windows down. When we got home I had to give him another bath not once but twice to get that smell off of him. I’m still trying to figure out what exactly did I pay $30 for because the only thing I saw that they did was trim his nails. I was very disappointed to say the least and will definitely not be returning there...

I only gave them one star because you could go in there and wait for quite a while to check your dog in, also they canceled my appointment and rescheduled it and told me they talked to me on the phone which they did not? They must have talked to somebody else? They rescheduled me 3 weeks later on a Saturday which I never go on Saturday to get groomed for my dog. But instead of apologizing they just condemn me as a liar basically. Not good business manners.

They do a good job but as long as you don't mind putting up with the issues. Not super friendly. I would recommend you to move on to some other place.

Plus they are three or four weeks out for a grooming appointment?
