I’ve NEVER experienced such RUDE service, and anyone who appreciates RESPECT would not step foot in this poorly managed/owned establishment. The prices are too high for that kind of service.
Decided to try this place out because my old nail shop was getting too comfortable and not giving me as good of service as I expected. My pedicure was amazing, and David did a wonderful job. However, this salon is poorly managed. One of the workers (I believe his name was Tan), who previously worked as a prep guy at my usual place but the owner of Solar nails, Phillip, “trained” him to do more, took care of my dip nails. I’m a glitter kind of gal, so of course I chose the most glittery dip polish, but the owner apparently didn’t train his apprentice that when it’s glitter you dip less times than a solid color because it’s naturally thick. Tan (or however his name is spelled) literally took an hour just to file down my dip polish so it wasn’t so thick! What was their biggest mistake was that while I washing my hands after the dip process, Tan moved my purse and shoes so he could start assisting another customer! NEVER TOUCH A LADY’S PURSE! After washing my hands, I realized my nails still needed to be filed, but at this point Tan is already starting on another customer. So I sat and waited 10 minutes before a nice young lady came and fixed all the flaws (mind you, I’ve been at this place for 3 hours already). During checkout I requested to speak with a manger of which the lady informed me that they weren’t in and the owner was “too busy” to talk to me and that the most she could do was $2 off an $80 bill and that the manager or owner would get back to me at a later, less busy time. I didn’t hear from them for a whole day, so I called and filed my complaint again and was told, yet again, that a manager or owner would call me back because they were busy at the moment. Here we are, a month or so later because it’s time for me to get my nails done, and a manager FINALLY spoke with me, only to tell me that because it’s a month out there’s nothing he’s willing to do (even though they NEVER reached out to me like I was told, and I was STILL tryna give him more business with just $5 off of another $80+ I would spend because I believe in 2nd chances), and that he doesn’t want my business and hung up in my face. Read moreI went to get an acrylic fill and pedicure. The pedicure was very rushed and sloppily done which left my toenails at different lengths and shapes. I also normally get gel on my toes so they last longer and that is an additional $23 at Solar Nails. Normally when I get gel on my toes its an extra $10 MAYBE $15 but $23 on top of the basic pedicure price of $40 was frustrating. I understand the upcharge, but that felt excessive. Then I went to get a fill on my nails and she told me that I would need a full set since she couldn't do a fill on acrylic powder which is something I have never heard of before. I was confused and a little upset but did not have time to go somewhere else. She said it would be no big deal she could just pop off the normal nails rather than going through the whole soak off process. What she failed to mention was the $15 fee it would be for her to pop off my nails in 2 minutes. I also requested that my nails be almond shaped which is something I normally get done. The rest of the manicure went fine but I when I went to pay I was surprised to see the $15 pop off fee, $6 shaping fee (since when do you have to pay extra for someone to shape your nails), and normal cost of the actual manicure. When I calmly explained that I was not informed of the upcharge to take off my nails she got really annoyed and said she could only take $5 off of the whole thing. I would not recommend going back my nails are streaky and I am extremely frustrated with my experience and the nickle and diming they are doing. I am more than happy to pay for a premium experience, but what I paid for was subpar and absolutely did not live up...
Read moreI called ahead to see if they had capacity to fit in a walk-in manicure with designs two hours before closing. They said absolutely, and when I arrived, I showed them a reference photo and asked for a quote. They said it would be $110, which I was more than happy with. The older gentleman who did my nails was so wonderful and professional. He took a picture of my reference photo and was mindful with every nail to refer back as he worked. When he did the French tip on my thumbs, he compared the two, saw one was uneven, cleaned it off, and redid it. I have been to SO many salons that just wouldn't even care if the French tips didn't match, and it meant so much to me that he was so intentional and detail-oriented with the design. My ONLY complaint is minor, and that is that the nails don't have a traditional "apex" from a side view, and that acrylic placement overlapped with my cuticles slightly, causing a ridge to show as my nails have grown out. However, I did come in with a complicated design at 5:15 PM and I would much rather a nail tech work efficiently and quickly with the nail shaping than to cut corners with the design, especially for the quoted price. They have held up wonderfully after three weeks; I lost the rhinestones on two nails but that's it! I am so happy with how this turned out and I will DEFINITELY be coming back in the future! Attached photos include my nails freshly done, their retention after 3 weeks' growth, and the index finger...
