I've been working closely with Blazing Editions in the preparation for an upcoming gallery exhibition of my work. This has involved proofing and printing a series of images in lightly toned black and white on metal. I have been very happy with every phase of the work. They have been excellent communicators with me every step of the way beginning with my initial inquiry. Their proofing process is very reassuring but I have to say that their renderings have been extremely consistent with the files I've sent along. The only problems I've seen have been of my own making. In fact, they caught a few mistakes of mine and rather than just go ahead and print, they called me to check. They deliver work very quickly, and it is very well packaged. The pricing is very reasonable, very competitive with or better than a traditional matting and framing presentation. Finally, the prints just look great. Everyone who sees them is struck by how well the print on metal works when properly done. I endorse their...
Read moreSeveral years ago I was introduced to Blazing Editions by the noted Block Island photographer, Malcolm Greenaway. After visiting their production facility in East Greenwich, RI, I fully understood why Malcolm raved that they were the perfect studio for fine art photography. The post production staff and front office were exceptional. More recently, it has been a pleasure to work with Evelyn Siler who has helped me decide the best sizes and formats for my photography projects - and has interfaced with the post production staff. Photographers have their choice of the various substrates and sizes, but there is no need to restate what is explained on their website that includes an overview of their package of services. Professional fine art photographers need not go anywhere else. But smaller personal projects are also approached by the staff as it was a project that will hang in any gallery anywhere. Take a tour, meet the front office, and the post production team and I’m sure...
Read moreI communicate with Blazing Editions on line and over the phone, with tif image files sent in for printing. Because I generally send well defined files, the printing is pretty straightforward. But recently, I sent in 16 images from an archive for an exhibit, the quality of which was, let's just say, variable. I did my best to improve the output and create as much continuity as possible. The rest was up to the lab to tweak the files for printing on paper stock which were then forwarded directly to a specialty discount framer in Ohio. The point is that I had to trust Blazing to get it right. And I do trust them to do their best. I've got more projects to come but I think I'd like to go up to Rhode Island for some actual face time! I'm looking forward to collaborating with the Blazing team and seeing the refined output first hand as the print rolls out of the machine. It's clear Blazing's clientele is top drawer and I'd be in...
