UPDATE Updating due to a significant change in circumstances. Unfortunately, I posted my first review after only one visit. DelVecchio’s has proven, with time, to be highly unreliable. Over the course of about 6 months, Nick was a no-show to my previously booked appointments FOUR TIMES, without any explanation or apology from him. The first time it happened the shop was open, so one of the other barbers cut my hair—telling me “yeah, he decided to take his girlfriend to the beach today.” I gave Nick the benefit of the doubt, but the other three times I was stood up there was NOBODY in the shop at all. The shop was dark and locked up during their normal posted working hours! Again, no explanation or apology—even though their website states specifically they will knock 50% off the cost of your next haircut for that type of incident. I also found that my son (who came out from college to visit us and booked an appointment with Nick) was stood up as well—the day before his flight home. Furthermore, when my son posted a negative review, he actually received a phone call from Nick. Not to apologize, like one might expect, but instead berating and actually THREATENING my son. I gave DelVecchio’s way more chances than I should have to make things right. I would highly recommend steering clear of this establishment. Nick might be really good at plying his trade, but what good is that if he is not reliable and has lousy business practices? In hindsight, I should have waited until after 3 or 4 visits before...
Read moreThis is the best barbershop in Rhode Island! I’ve been living in Rhode Island for over two years now and I’ve gone through about six or seven different barbers looking for someone that can consistently give me a good cut. DelVecchio’s solved that problem and did it with style. Great owner, great barbers, and awesome relaxed friendly atmosphere. Tran is my barber and has given me a great cut every time. Watching the owner (Nick) and other barbers makes it clear that everyone working here is a master of their craft. If you’re 18-50ish and looking for a cool stylish cut or something more traditional, this is the place to get it done and done well while also being able to relax and chat with the friendly barbers and customers. This is where I will be getting my hair cut for the foreseeable future unless I move out of state or they close the doors. But I I don’t see anyway these doors would be closing considering their many loyal customers and great experiences they provide. Do yourself a favor and book an appointment with Tran, Nick, or Cody and thank me later. Once you get a cut I’d bet you’ll be posting your own review telling others how awesome...
Read moreIt’s hard to put into words what it means to have someone you trust with your look for 20 years—but even more than that, someone who’s been a real friend through it all. For over two decades, Nick has been more than just the person behind the clippers—he’s been a constant, a confidant, and a cornerstone of consistency in my life.
From my first cut to every special event, job interview, celebration, and even the times I just needed a fresh start, he’s been there. Always professional, always precise, and always making sure I walked out of that chair feeling like the best version of myself.
What sets him apart isn’t just the skill (which is top-tier), but the heart he puts into every session. We’ve shared laughs, stories, advice—and over time, this has become more than a service. It’s been a friendship built on loyalty, respect, and mutual growth.
If you’re looking for someone who’s not only a master of the craft but truly cares about his clients, look no further. I’m proud to say he’s been my barber for 20 years—and even prouder to call...
